ELECTRONIC ARTS ANNOUNCES FIRST CD-ROM RELEASE: THE LABYRINTH OF TIME

San Mateo, Calif., Oct. 25, 1993 -- Electronic Arts(NASDAQ:ERTS) has
announced the release of The Labyrinth of Time for the PC and compatible
CD ROM/MPC. This game will be one of Electronic Art's first releases on
CD-ROM, and is available immediately priced at $59.95. The Labyrinth of
Time is the creation of Michal Todorovic and Bradley W. Schenck of New
Worlds Development. Randy Breen is the producer for Electronic Arts.

The Labyrinth of Time is a fantasy adventure featuring a series of graphic
and logic puzzles which must be completed in order to solve the entire
game. Problems must be solved in a nature that affects both space and
time. For example, certain puzzles, once solved, put events in motion that
will aid in the ultimate destruction of the Labyrinth itself. Therefore,
the player must create conditions which essentially, change history! The
Labyrinth of Time features over 250 megabytes of SVGA 3D-modeled and
rendered graphics, which provide a photorealistic gameplay environment,
and it utilizes an intelligent design point-and click interface.

The player is whisked away from the contemporary world by a subway car, and
is thrown directly into the game. King Minos (of Greek mythology) has
captured the spirit of his ancient master-builder, Daedalus (father of
Icarus.) It was Daedalus who designed and built the infamous Labyrinth of
Knossos. Minos is utilizing the captive spirit of Daedalus to create a new
Labyrinth-one which bridges both space and time, and has doorways into a
number of historical epochs. Minos plans to rule Earth via The Labyrinth,
and become the ultimate despot--not simply the ruler of his era, but the
ruler of the entire history of The World.

Daedalus strives to fight off the mental captivity under which his spirit
has been placed, and sets out to recruit a technically-advanced
warrior-who just happens to be an innocent bystander from the twentieth
century!

The player must pass through The Labyrinth, solving conundrums of logic,
and setting various chains of events in motion in order to influence
actions in later historical eras, like the Middle Ages, Pre-Columbian
America, the Bronze Age, the Old West, and the present. The player does
all of this by simply interacting with 'hot buttons' and icons on-screen
as he pursues his ultimate quest--to locate and overcome the source of the
awesome power of Minos.
