Macromedia, the leader in multimedia software, is proud to support NEC's
SSP Program as the sole multimedia tools vendor.

This unique program brings together NEC and Macromedia with a talented pool
of title developers to focus on widening the range of support for the
multimedia industry.

In conjunction with the launch of NEC's SSP Program and the new MS CD
drive, Macromedia will offer a new Lingo function that enables title
developers to create "scalable" software. Scalable software allows
developers to create one title application that will run at the optimal CD
drive performance--regardless of the hardware type.

"NEC is the perfect strategic partner for us," said Larry Miller, vice
president of marketing at Macromedia. "With the SSP Program, Macromedia
and NEC join to support developers in creating applications for the
playback system instead of the development system. The customer is
definitely the winner with the best possible title playback performance on
any speed CD-ROM machine."

Macromedia's Director is the industry-standard animation and authoring tool
for the Macintosh. Developers worldwide are using Director to combine
text, graphics, animation, sound and video into interactive titles and
applications. Using the Director Player for Windows, these titles can be
ported to the Windows platform for delivery to larger audiences.

Eight of the fourteen currently signed SSP development companies have
already created commercial titles using Macromedia's Director and the
Director Player for Windows. They are: A.D.A.M. Software, Broderbund,
Knowledge Adventure, Drew Pictures, Pop Rocket, Presto Studios, Time
Warner, and Voyager.

Macromedia's 1993 International User Conference will feature a focused
presentation on the benefits of NEC's new MS CD drive with titles created
in Director.
