THREE NEW VIEWMAGIC COLOR MONITORS FEATURE ON SCREEN DISPLAY OF USER
SETTINGS

New 17-, 15- And 14-inch Flat Screen, Microprocessor-Controlled Monitors
For PC/XT/AT, PS/2, and Mac IIs Display WYSIWYG Color, Confirm 10
User-Selectable Adjustments

Fremont, CA -- October 25, 1993 -- ETC Computer, Inc., a rising player in
the monitor market, is introducing three new ViewMagic color monitors: the
17-inch Models CA-1765SP, 15-inch CA-1565SP and 14-inch Model CA-1464SP.
The monitors are flat screen, microprocessor-controlled multiscan units
featuring on-screen displays of user-adjustable settings and
What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) color.

The three monitors will be on display in Booth S3109 in the Sands Expo and
Convention Center at COMDEX/Fall '93, November 15-19, in Las Vegas, CA.

All three monitors are designed to provide users with immediate, precise
and easy to understand configurations of all settings and adjustments,
including both foreground and background color, vertical and horizontal
position, rotation (tilted image), pincushion (bowed sides), or trapezoid
(bowed top or bottom) screen distortions.

A total of ten adjustments are confirmed on the screen with icons, level
indicator bars and exact numeric values. Six pushbuttons located on the
front panel enable users to select functions to be adjusted without having
to scroll through the entire list of options or settings.

Kent Huang, president of ETC, said, "By individually fine-tuning the
intensity of the red, green and blue colors of the background and
foreground (video) images, users are assured that the colors appearing on
the screen are the exact colors that they'll see printed out. WYSIWYG
color is essential for desktop publishing, animation, multimedia and many
CAD/CAM/CAE applications. In addition, the fine adjustments to correct for
image distortion allow the user to utilize the entire flat screen edge to
edge, thus increasing the display area."

Designed for high-resolution color applications running on IBM PC/XT/AT,
PS/2 and Apple Macintosh II systems, both monitors use a powerful Motorola
microprocessor for accurate and immediate processing of all user
adjustments. The CA-1765SP also includes a manual degaussing control which
allows the user to demagnetize the CTR at any time to eliminate uneven
color spots.

(This is in addition to the AutoDegaussing feature included in all
ViewMagic monitors which automatically refreshes the purity of the video
display.)

Both monitors features flat, non-glare screens for reduced geometric
distortion, 12 factory-preset resolutions from 640 x 480 up to 1280 x 1024
non-interlaced, auto-scanning from 30KHz to 65KHz for horizontal
frequencies, 50Hz to 120Hz for vertical frequencies.

The 17-inch CA-1765SP has a 0.26mm dot pitch and has a suggested list price
of $1199.00; the 15-inch CA-1565SP has a 0.28mm dot pitch and is available
for $689.00. The 14-inch CA1464SP has a 0.28mm dot pitch and is available
for $499.00. Low emission models are slightly higher.

The monitors are available separately and in OEM quantities as a branded
ViewMagic PreciseColor or private-label products, and are backed by a
limited two-year warranty.

ETC's family of ViewMagic digital control monitors are the first monitors
designed for high-end applications that are priced within the reach of
most mainstream computer users. The company' s 14-, 15- and 17-inch models
feature LCD or LED indicators of user-selectable controls and adjustments
which are conveniently located on the front panel.
