VIRTUS INKS DEAL WITH AMERICAN SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE DISTRIBUTORS, INC. TO
SUPPLY VR SOFTWARE TO RESELLERS

Agreement Kicks Off With "Buy Three Get One Free" Limited Time Offer

Cary, North Carolina (November 10, 1993) -- Virtus Corporation and American
Software and Hardware Distributors (ASHD) today announced that ASHD will
distribute Virtus' entire line of 3D rendering and multimedia software to
resellers in the United States and Europe. To kick off the distribution
agreement Virtus and ASHD are offering resellers an opportunity to buy
three copies of Virtus VR, Virtus' new entertainment package for Macintosh
and Windows computers, and get a fourth copy free. This limited incentive
is available to resellers November 10 through December 31, 1993.

"We're thrilled to include Virtus' products in our offerings," said Paul
Deckard. director of marketing at ASHD. "ASHD is positioned for leadership
in the multimedia and VR channels, so the two companies are a good match.
Virtus makes an entirely new style of software that combines the appeal of
virtual reality with fantastic ease of use and practical, real-world
functionality--at a great price. They are the first products to allow
normal, desktop computer users to create and explore virtual spaces
without any added gear, like goggles or gloves. It's an added bonus that
we're bringing them on just in time for the holiday shopping season, with
the Virtus VR 'buy three get one free' promotion."

"ASHD has an incredible group of salespeople who provide excellent service
and really know the multimedia and VR markets," said Ed Twardy, Virtus'
distribution sales manager. "To demonstrate their commitment, they are
devoting time to a training workshop on all of our products. The timing
couldn't be better for us: Virtus' sales have increased dramatically since
the introduction of WalkThrough for Windows, WalkThrough Pro, and our
first consumer-oriented product, Virtus VR. ASHD will help us satisfy this
increased demand to resellers while extending our reach in both the
domestic and international channels."

All Virtus products, from the entry-level Virtus VR, to Virtus WalkThrough
and the more advanced Virtus WalkThrough Pro, are available now through
ASHD. As part of their agreement with the distributor, Virtus is referring
all reseller inquiries to ASHD.

Virtus Corporation's flagship product, Virtus WalkThrough (U.S. List $195)
is an interactive modeling program for Macintosh and Windows. It provides
instantaneous 3D representation of objects and scenes drawn in 2D. Users
can travel through the 3D environment at will, exploring it from any angle
or perspective. Virtus WalkThrough Pro (U.S. list $395), is a higher end
version of Virtus WalkThrough. Currently available only for the Macintosh,
"Pro" adds the enhanced realism of surface textures, such as brick or wood
grain, to WalkThrough models. It also lets users integrate Apple QuickTime
movies as textures, introducing animation to the scenes. Virtus
WalkThrough and WalkThrough Pro target professional users working in
creative, visual fields.

The company's newest product, Virtus VR (U.S. List $99) is an
entertainment-oriented software package that includes five VR "worlds", a
gallery of sample 3D objects, and simplified tools that let users explore,
alter, model and invent 3D environments on their home computers. Virtus VR
is available now for Macintosh computers; Virtus VR for Windows will begin
shipping at the end of the month. Virtus will supplement Virtus VR with an
ongoing series of new galleries. The first two add-on galleries for Virtus
VR will be released in November with the suggested retail price of $39.
