BidWorks ships

Turtle Creek Software announces that BidWorks for the Macintosh will ship
November 15, 1993.

BidWorks provides very quick rough estimates and high-accuracy finished
bids for both residential construction projects (single- and multi-family)
and commercial buildings. It can be used for 'ballpark' estimates by
architects, planners, developers, and design/build firms. It also creates
accurate bids for general contractors, remodelers, custom home builders
and developers.

BidWorks combines and replaces HyperEstimator and HyperRemodeler (also from
Turtle Creek Software). HyperEstimator was rated #1 among 11 popular
construction estimating programs in a review made by the Canadian
Construction Association in 1991.

BidWorks uses a very simple graphic format, with 'smart dimensioning' based
on measurements that are easy to make from blueprints or project notes.
BidWorks includes specific 'cards' for calculating foundations, roofs,
structural and finish dimensions. In addition, it includes 'calculators'
that make it easy to figure labor burden and overhead percentages. It is
possible to remove or change any of the 1000 1 unit prices that comes with
BidWorks, or to add any number of additional items.

For simplicity, BidWorks handles new construction, room additions and 'gut
and rehab' projects on a 'whole project' basis. It can also handle
remodeling and other types of projects on a 'room by room' basis for
greater flexibility. There is no limit to the project size or the number
of rooms that can be used.

BidWorks is able to 'link' to MacNail, an integrated construction
estimating, accounting and scheduling package that is also produced by
Turtle Creek Software. Bids created in BidWorks can be exported to
MacNail. Construction unit prices can also be shared between the two
programs.

BidWorks costs $395. It includes a 400 page manual, and free technical
support.

A Windows version is planned for release in early 1994.
