STEREOGRAPHICS CRYSTALEYES VR SYSTEM Now SUPPORTED BY DIVISION, INC.'S
VIRTUAL DESIGN ENVIRONMENT

Leading Virtual Reality Application Runs on Traditional CAD Systems Without
Any Programming Required

San Rafael, CA -- November 9, 1993 -- StereoGraphics Corporation announced
that its CrystalEyes VR system is now supported by the Virtual Design
Environment virtual reality application software from Division, Inc.,
Redwood city, CA. StereoGraphics is the world's largest supplier of stereo
three-dimensional electronic display equipment. Division is a leading
supplier of integrated VR software, systems and technology, and is
exhibiting at the Autofact show, booth no. 1347, Nov. 9-11, in Chicago.
StereoGraphics is exhibiting at booth no. 947.

CrystalEyes VR is a stereo 3D viewer and head-tracking system that permits
users to view and interact with three-dimensional spatial information on a
workstation monitor. Virtual Design Environment is the world's first
commercial design system to offer a true 3D user interface that can be
readily used without the need for any programming. Combining these
products allows the productivity benefits of VR to be exploited
immediately while providing an easy upgrade path.

CrystalEyes VR systems use StereoGraphics' patented CrystalEyes stereo
eyewear to view stereo 3D images via a computer-directed ultrasound
head-tracking device supporting all six degrees of head movement. The
CrystalEyes eyewear alternates left and right images at 120 frames per
second, thereby creating true flicker-free, full-color stereo perception.
As the user's head moves from side to side, closer to or further away from
the monitor, the image on the display changes perspective, giving the
convincing illusion that the image is a real object. CrystalEyes VR is
easily ported to SGI and Sun workstations and IBM PC systems and
compatibles.

Wil Cochran, vice president of sales and marketing for StereoGraphics,
said, "VR becomes doubly powerful when users can put on the CrystalEyes
glasses and enter Division's powerful Virtual Design Environment . We
expect that the combination will help VR become a mainstream computing
tool."'

Peter Cornwell, Division's president, said, "Using Virtual Design
Environment and CrystalEyes eyeglasses, users can implement VR
applications now. The ingredients are the lighweight CrystalEyes VR
head-tracking eyewear and Logitech 3D mouse combined with off-the-shelf
software. End users can now exploit VR in their existing working
environment without software development or expensive, heavy headgear."

Virtual Design Environment is a high-end design system which imports
existing design data produced by computer-aided design (CAD) and
mainstream modeling software packages such as AutoCAD, 3D-Studio,
Wavefront and MultiGen. Its innovative point-and-click interface allows
users to quickly and easily create sophisticated interactive virtual
environments through powerful 3D tools and menus.

Applications not possible using conventional CAD systems, such as
interactive visualization and evaluation of designs for manufacturability,
ergonomics, and other realistic spatial properties, can now be performed
on existing graphics workstations. The Virtual Design Environment is able
to run on flatscreen window- and mouse-based systems or on fully immersive
installations.

The CrystalEyes VR system is available from StereoGraphics at a suggested
list price of $1,995.00. Virtual Design Environment software is available
from Division, Inc., at an entry-level price of $3,900.00 and is ready for
immediate use on SGI workstations.

Division, Inc., is based in Redwood city, California. The Division Group of
