STEREOGRAPHICS INTRODUCES AT IAAPA CRYSTALEYES DUAL PROJECTION SYSTEM FOR
ALL STEREO (3D) PROJECTORS

Low-Cost System Works With All Projectors From Liquid Crystal To
Stadium-Size Projection Models, Supports Head-Mounted Devices And 3-D
Polarized Glasses

San Rafael, CA -- November 17, 1993 --StereoGraphics Corporation, the
world's largest supplier of three-dimensional electronic stereo display
equipment, is introducing the low-cost CrystalEyes Dual Projection System
in Booth 4028 at the International Association of Amusement Parks and
Attractions Show, November 17 through 20, in Los Angeles, CA.

The CrystalEyes Dual Projection System is based on StereoGraphics'
self-contained CrystalEyes 3D Stereo VideoSystem, which enables live, high
resolution, true stereoscopic 3D images to be simultaneously viewed and
transmitted or recorded and played back with a single VCR. The CrystalEyes
Dual Projection System offers the increased functionality of enabling
projectors and head mounted displays to include live stereo viewing,
simultaneous record and subsequent playback of the three-dimensional
stereo images.

The CrystalEyes Dual Projection System is also available in a playback-only
configuration which enables playback of video images for stereo projection
utilizing any two standard projectors, from the lower priced liquid
crystal units to the Eidophor and GE Talaria projectors for screens up to
25-feet high.

The playback-only version of the CrystalEyes Dual Projection System can
also be used to deliver stereo input to head-mounted displays and
"visors." Experiments at the NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View,
CA, have shown that the resolution of a head-mounted display is greatly
improved when stereo input is delivered via a CrystalEyes Dual Projection
System.

The CrystalEyes Dual Projection System is designed to provide reasonably
priced, easy-to-install stereo projection for simulation theater for a
wide variety of location-based entertainment, including theme parks,
thrill rides and indoor attractions like theaters and shopping malls.

The CrystalEyes Dual Projection System is priced at $23,500, with the
playback-only version priced at $13,000. Both models will be available in
January, 1994.

Wil Cochran, vice president of sales and marketing for StereoGraphics,
said, "The CrystalEyes Dual Projection System is a great way for parks to
upgrade to the latest virtual reality technology without breaking their
budget. Now both small entertainment companies and large production houses
can capitalize on the demand for three-dimensional interactive
entertainment."

The CrystalEyes Dual Projection System is NTSC and PAL compatible and uses
StereoGraphics' patented, state-of-the-art compressed-side-field format
for viewing and recording on a single recording device.

In addition to the CrystalEyes Dual Projection System, StereoGraphics also
offers a line of stereo large screen projectors that permit large screen
stereo viewing via a single-field sequencing CRT projector in combination
with CrystalEyes active shuttering eyewear. The projectors can also be
fitted with StereoGraphics ZScreen active shuttering lenses for viewing
with passive polarized glasses. The system projects bright, crisp,
high-resolution color images from any video source or from computer
graphics generated by PCs and workstations.

StereoGraphics CrystalEyes products are being used to improve and dramatize
video and computer presentations, scientific visualization, medical
imaging. surgical endoscopy, molecular modeling, photogrammetry, motion
simulation, inspection systems, remote vehicle control, flight simulation
and all types of training.

StereoGraphics recently introduced the CrystalEyes PC system which converts
IBM PCs and compatibles, some Apple Macintosh and Amiga non-stereo-ready
personal computers into a state-of-the-art graphics platform for true 3D
stereo visualization.

StereoGraphics also recently introduced the CrystalEyes CAD system which
allows any AutoCAD drawing file to be viewed in three dimensions, giving
users a clearer understanding of models. The image can be saved as an
AutoCAD "slide" in a graphics file on the hard disk.

In addition, StereoGraphics produces the CrystalEyes VR systems which
enable the viewer to see the stereo image through the CrystalEyes stereo
eyewear linked to an ultrasound head-tracking device supporting all six
degrees of head movement. As the user's head moves from side to side,
closer to or further away from the monitor, the image on the display
changes its perspective, giving the convincing illusion that the image is
a real object. CrystalEyes VR is also offered with software for VR
developers and is easily ported to SGI and Sun workstations and IBM PC
systems and compatibles.

StereoGraphics Corp., founded in 1980 and the world's leading manufacturer
of stereo viewing systems, invented and developed the market for modern
stereo imaging hardware. Due to its capability, reasonable price and
state-of-the-art technology backed by 15 patents, CrystalEyes stereo
viewing systems are accepted as the industry standard for stereo viewing.
StereoGraphics is located at 2171 East Francisco Boulevard, San Rafael,
California 94901, phone 415/459-4500, fax 415/459-3020.
