REDMOND, Wash.--Nov. 1, 1993--Microsoft Corporation today announced the
Microsoft MS-DOS 6.2 Upgrade For Dummies, Special Edition, a joint effort
with IDG Books Worldwide, Inc. to make installation and use of the latest
version of the MS-DOS operating system easier for millions of PC users.
The companies have combined the latest upgrade of MS-DOS software, version
6.2, with a special edition of the humorous, down-to-earth, best-selling
computer book "DOS for Dummies" by Dan Gookin. The combined package offers
respected, plain-spoken advice geared to typical PC users, while allowing
users to benefit from all of the software's newest features.

MS-DOS 6.2 Upgrade For Dummies, Special Edition, will be sold through
retail bookstores and computer software stores nationwide starting today.
