CHEYENNE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES IMPROVED NETWORK VIRUS PROTECTION
InocuLAN Version 2.5 Released

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NEW YORK, October 27, 1993 - - - Cheyenne Software, Inc.
(AMEX:CYE) announced today the release of InocuLAN version 2.5 which
incorporates new advanced features that improve InocuLAN's performance and
extends its virus protection capabilities to networked Macintosh
workstations. In addition, InocuLAN, which is Novell certified, now fully
supports Novell's NetWare 4.0 with advanced functionality.

InocuLAN is the only anti-virus software product on the market today
providing centralized virus protection and prevention for the NetWare file
server as well as connected DOS and Macintosh workstations and
non-networked PCs. The server-based module (VAP or NLM), which in this new
version uses only 420K of memory, scans the file servers while terminate
and stay resident programs (TSRs) protect networked and stand-alone PCs
from known and unknown viruses. Remaining in the background, InocuLAN
monitors the network and if viral behavior on a workstation is detected,
it immediately notifies the user by network broadcast, MHS message, or
pager. It also provides notification if a network user attempts to access
the server through an unprotected workstation. Software updates are
automatically distributed to workstations from the centrally located file
server. InocuLAN's scalable protection grows as the network grows, with
impact on network performance.

In addition to the Macintosh and NetWare 4.0 support, version 2.5 of
InocuLAN includes an IMMUNE option which, as a TSR, resides in each
workstation's memory and continuously scans files as they are opened or
executed, for virus-like or other malicious behavior. The uses primarily
extended and expanded memory with only a 6K footprint in conventional
memory, enabling scanning to occur without impacting workstation
resources.

In making the announcement, Andrew Boyland, Director of Computer Security
Products for Cheyenne Software, "Today's networks consist of multiple
tiers and each contains the same high level of susceptibility to a virus
attack. The increased number of Macintosh workstations on Novell networks
has prompted Cheyenne to add data protection capabilities for these users
to InocuLAN. Cheyenne's unique approach to combating viruses considers all
potential virus vehicles and provides preventative measures as well as
protection capabilities."

Cheyenne has stratified InocuLAN's pricing structure to provide
comprehensive anti-virus protection and prevention for networks of all
sizes. The InocuLAN user level corresponds to the customers version of
NetWare and supports the number of users specified by that version.
Suggested U.S. retail pricing is as follows:

Includes license for all DOS and Macintosh workstations connected to the
host server.
