New Strategies . . . Intergraph will port its MicroStation graphics
software to Silicon Graphics' Indigo family of RISC-based systems by
year-end . . . A new business partnership with Stoner Associates Inc. of
Carlisle, Pa., has the two companies distributing FRAMME NT applications
and Stoner's SynerGEE for water and gas utilities. Stoner is Intergraph's
fifth business partner in the utilities market.

Financials . . . Restructuring costs, weak markets and a transition to new
products with lower profit margins took their toll once again, resulting
in a net loss of $19.9 million. or 43 cents a share, for the third
quarter. Orders were up 4 percent from the second quarter . . . A
shareholder rights plan to deter unfriendly takeover attempts was
adopted.

Products . . . MGE will be the first GIS software on Windows NT . . .
Intergraph and MapInfo Corp. have developed translation software to
exchange data between MGE and MapInfo for Windows.

I/Design Protege lowers the entry price for industrial design software from
$24,000 to $14,900 . . . A new PDS-IN instrumentation module simplifies
customization in plant design . . . SURGICAD Design combines anatomy with
CAD, opening opportunities in orthopedic surgery, radiology and the
manufacture of implant devices.

Due out this quarter: MGE Network Manager models utility networks for water
and electricity. Gas and water versions will follow . . . FieldWorks
downloads field survey data from electronic field books . . . Electrical
Engineer Cable Management System automates cable routing.

Contracts . . . Intergraph got a big piece of the Navy's huge NAVFAC CAD 2
contract. Intergraph and Cordant Incorporated will compete for GIS and CAD
systems for facilities engineering . The contract could be worth as much
as $550 million. The next phase of the CAD2 procurement, NAVAIR, will be
announced in mid-1994.. Intergraph is a bidder. ... Intergraph becomes the
Hong Kong government's vendor of choice for CAD systems under a $10
million contract .

Overseas . . . Intergraph Europe is a partner in an EC-funded project to
provide public access to GIS databases. The multi-lingual system will help
tourists . . . Intergraph GIS business in Europe was up 68 percent at
mid-year.

Management Changes . . . Larry Avers named Executive Vice President in
charge of Mapping/GIS, image processing, dispatch management, utilities
and aeronautical charting. He was Vice President, Mapping Sciences
Division.
