MAGIC QUEST ANNOUNCES "LEARNING2"
AN INNOVATIVE SCHOOL SOFTWARE DONATION PROGRAM

Palo Alto, Calif., October 11, 1993 -- Magic Quest, formerly Earthquest,
announced today its innovative school software donation program,
"Learning2". In keeping with Magic Quest's philosophy of encouraging and
motivating kids to learn, "Learning2" lets consumers increase their
children's learning power twofold by issuing a free copy of software to
the school of their choice upon purchase of any Magic Quest consumer
software product.

Bob Stevens, president and co-founder of Magic Quest noted, "We at Magic
Quest have always believed in making learning fun both at home and at
school. The "Learning 2" program helps to accomplish this by increasing
the educational benefits for our home software consumers while at the same
time increasing the educational technology resources in our nation's
schools. "

Judi Mathis-Johnson, Software Review Editor of The Computing Teacher
commented, "Of all the promotional campaigns I've seen, "Learning2" seems
the most beneficial way to reinforce children's home computer experience
and the most effective way to get software into the classroom."

Consumers can participate in the program by working with teachers to fill
out the school computer information form included in the specially
stickered boxes of Magic Quest software. Magic Quest, upon receipt of
these forms, will in turn provide free copies of Magic Quest software and
licensing privileges for the 1993-94 school year to each school. National
retailers, including Egghead, Electronics Boutique and Software, Etc. will
take part in this unique program.

Debbie O'Hara, Director of Marketing at Electronics Boutique (EB)
commented, "EB is proud to be a part of the Magic Quest "Learning2"
program. We view it as a way to show our continued support of the local
communities in which our stores are located."

Included in the "Learning2" program is Magic Quest's newest title, Math Ace
and the forthcoming newly designed Treks titles, Ecology Treks, Time
Treks, and Earth Treks. Math Ace, designed for kids ages 8-14, is a
fast-moving arcade-style game featuring Smart Lab an interactive,
self-paced math workshop, Bit-Bot - the digital math navigator, and more
than 3,000 problems ranging from basic arithmetic through algebra. The
Treks programs feature exciting interactive adventures in which kids can
join Bit-Bot on grand multimedia tours through history, into the biosphere
and around the world. All Magic Quest titles combine engaging games
closely connected to rich multimedia database archives.

Magic Quest, formerly Earthquest Inc., is dedicated to developing and
publishing software that brings out the magic of learning by integrating
entertaining, challenging games and rich multimedia databases. Members of
the Magic Quest team include Earthquest founders, Bob Stevens and David
Smith as President and Chairman, Paul Salzinger, Executive Vice President,
