ARIS ENTERTAINMENT TO CONVERT ENTIRE MEDIACLIPS LIBRARY TO MPEG

Animal Kingdom First to Combine MPEG, MPC & Macintosh on One Disc; Features
100 Images, 100 Sounds, 25 Videos of Wildlife Around The World

November 15,1993 -- (COMDEX, LAS VEGAS) - Aris Entertainment has announced
its thirteenth MediaClips multimedia clip art title in less than two
years, a colorful compilation of wild animal images, sounds and videos
entitled Animal Kingdom. This title marks the first time Aris has combined
MPEG, MPC and Macintosh-compatible formats onto a single CD-ROM disc.

Retailing for just $39.95, Animal Kingdom features 100 color photographic
images of creatures large and small, from the Sahara to the Savannas to
the Serengetti plain, along with 100 audio clips of original New Age music
and 25 live-action videos. The title will ship November, 1993.

Animal Kingdom marks a shift in Aris' entire multimedia utility program,
said Aris Entertainment president Chris Kitze, with all new MediaClips
titles for 1993-94 being published with native MPEG capability, as well as
the series' current MPC and Macintosh capabilities. In addition, the
entire Aris library of multimedia clip art products will be converted to
MPEG at each of their respective next printings. All titles will remain
compatible with Video for Windows and Macintosh Quick Time for customers
who have not purchased an add-on MPEG board.

"We believe that MPEG represents the future of CD-ROM," said Kitze, "It's
the only full-motion, full-screen technology that is affordable, high
quality and available today. We have committed our support to the MPEG
standard, and we also remain firm about not raising our prices to add
MPEG. To the contrary, as more and more consumers buy MPEG boards, the
demand for full-screen movies and other applications will drive prices
even lower."

Animal Kingdom also comes with a self-running slide show of the 100
dramatic images. All three formats, which are included on the same CD-ROM,
utilize a built-in search engine to locate specific images and sounds from
the disc. In addition, Aris' proprietary "picture picker" guides the user
to the best shot for each occasion via a full-screen photographic matrix.

All MediaClips titles also use SuperMac's CinePak compression/decompression
technology to efficiently store 25 run-time videos. All MediaClips images,
sounds and videos may be used royalty-free in any presentation, provided
credit is given to Aris Entertainment and to the artists.
