NSSI ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH DELL

Leading Personal Computer Maker to Distribute Industry's NSSI's Power
Management System

San Diego, November 10, 1993 - Network Security Systems Inc. (NSSI), a
recognized leader in network and standalone power management solutions,
today announced a distribution agreement with Dell Computer Corporation
(NASDAQ: DELL). Under the agreement, Dell, the industry's leading direct
marketer of personal computer systems, will sell NSSI's family of
uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) and LanSafe power protection
software through its DellWare catalog.

NSSI's intelligent power systems enable users in LAN and WAN environments
to protect critical file servers, workstations and bridges from blackouts,
brownouts and under/over voltage conditions. As an added benefit, from a
central terminal system administrators can manage power conditions and
operational parameters for every network device with an attached UPS,
including those at remote sites. Operating systems supported include
MS/DOS, Windows, Novell NetWare, OS/2, LAN Manager, LAN Server and UNIX

According to Stephen Nye, president of NSSI, the average down-time for most
networks is about six percent of which 90 percent is attributable to power
outages. For resellers, this translates into a tremendous sales
opportunity.

"In this day and age, companies simply can't afford the business and data
losses associated with network down-time," said Nye. "Protecting your
Network is not only simple, it's cost-effective as well. No matter what
your yardstick; hard dollars, productivity or the like--power protection
pays off. The smart network managers know this and are turning to NSSI for
their power protection needs.

"By capitalizing on our individual strengths, we can provide our customers
with a combination that can't be beat--a reputable, ready source of
intelligent power protection hardware and software," concluded Nye.

A Fortune 500 company, Dell Computer Corporation designs, develops,
manufactures, markets, services and supports a complete line of personal
computers compatible with industry standards. Dell's DellWare catalog was
created to give the company's PC customers easy access to more than 2,000
of the industry's most popular computer-related products.

NSSI's power management system is comprised of a family of intelligent UPSs
and LanSafe II network power management software. The company's
award-winning products support Novell, UNIX, Windows, OS/2 LAN Manager or
LAN Server. For additional product information, contact NSSI at (800)
