KODAK INVITES PHOTO LABS AND SERVICE BUREAUS TO PRODUCE PHOTO CD PORTFOLIO
MULTIMEDIA DISCS

Rochester, N.Y., Nov. 11--Eastman Kodak Company today mailed over 1,500
invitations to photo labs and audio-visual service bureaus in the U.S. and
Canada, inviting them to produce Kodak Photo CD Portfolio discs. Kodak
plans to introduce Kodak Photo CD Portfolio design software for Macintosh
computers and production software for Sun computers. Kodak Photo CD
Portfolio production software for Macintosh and Windows will follow.

The Photo CD Portfolio disc format combines high-resolution Photo CD images
with text, graphics, interactive menus, and sound. Kodak will target
business markets such as sales, training, and publishing. Customers of the
Kodak shrink-wrap software products will create interactive Photo CD
Portfolio disc presentations and titles at the desktop.

Photo CD Portfolio discs can be played on TV using Photo CD, CD-I, Apple
PowerCD, and Panasonic 3DO players. Kodak recently introduced the Kodak
Photo CD portable player PCD 970 that displays Photo CD discs on TV and
plays audio CDs to stereo systems.

Photo CD Portfolio discs also can be played on Macintosh and Windows based
computers with compatible CD-ROM drives and Kodak Photo CD Portfolio
player software. Commercial applications for Photo CD Portfolio format
discs include business presentations, informational kiosks, trade show
displays, and educational programs.

The format also is valuable for archiving digital images and for multimedia
title creation where motion is not required.

The Photo CD Portfolio disc can be programmed with non-linear interactive
menus. This means that menu branches can easily be designed into a
presentation, allowing the user to select a remote control button, or by
pointing the mouse to select an on-screen menu button.

Beginning in January, users can design the contents of a Photo CD Portfolio
disc using shrink-wrap software from Kodak. Today's mailing to photo labs
and audio-visual service bureaus is the first step in building a network
of service provider locations to produce the Portfolio disc for users of
the Portfolio design software. Kodak plans to have a service network in
place before it begins shipping the desktop Kodak Photo CD Portfolio
creation software to retailers in January.

Details about pricing, product features, and channels of distribution for
Photo CD Portfolio desktop and production software will be announced at
MacWorld Expo in January. For more information, customers and interested
service providers can call the Kodak Customer Assistance Center at
1/800-CD-KODAK.
