Logitech Announces High-End Wave Table Sound Board: SoundMan Wave

Includes Wave Table & FM Synthesizers, SoundBlaster & AdLib Compatibility,
SCSI CD-ROM Interface, and Value-Added Software

Las Vegas, Nevada -- November 15, 1993 -- Logitech Inc., international
market leader in products to "humanize" the computer, today announced
SoundMan Wave? a 16-bit stereo card based on wave table synthesis The
product will be available through Logitech dealers and distributors in
March for a suggested retail price of $349.

Because leading-edge wave table technology uses true instrument recordings
instead of computer-generated sounds, music used in games and multimedia
applications sound more realistic SoundMan Wave also includes a unique
MIDI interpreter that allows users to hear wave table quality in many of
today's most popular games such as X-Wing and 7th Guest.

Logitech choose the Yamaha OPL-4 chip for synthesized sound to provide
optimal sound quality and to ensure 100-percent SoundBlaster and AdLib
compatibility.

latest commitment to bringing consumers a wide variety of high quality
sound products "

SoundMan Wave offers the highest sound quality available today with 44-wave
table and FM voices; full SoundBlaster and AdLib compatibility; 16-bit or
8-bit stereo, or mono digital audio; 44 KHz sampling; MIDI support; a
five-channel stereo mixer; a SCSI CD-ROM interface; and a variety of
software titles.

Logitech enhanced the installation process by adding sound and graphics to
SoundMan Wave's installation program. SoundMan Wave has no jumpers, users
can install the product without having to set on-board options first The
installation software automatically selects the correct settings for the
system.

SoundMan Wave supports both Windows 3.1 and DOS, with separate controls and
drivers for each Both drivers set and retain board settings and "talk"
with each other, so the settings in one environment are the same as the
other. Software applications bundled with SoundMan Wave include:

* MCS MusicRack from Animotion: Features a convenient window that looks and
works like a home stereo system Key features include a mixing console, a
software CD player for CD-ROM drives with audio playback capabilities, a
digital recorder for recording and editing WAV files, and a MIDI player.

* Recording Session by MidiSoft: Record, edit, and play MIDI music with
this powerful, easy-to-use program that displays musical files or
performance as standard music notation in real time during recording and
playback

* BeSTspeech ReadOut from Berkeley Speech Technologies (BST) -- This
Windows-based program allows the user to read back text from the clipboard
and any OLE word processors or E-mail Users can also read numbers from any
OLE spreadsheet

* SoundMan Annotator from Voyetra: Allows users to annotate messages in any
Windows OLE application.

* Icon Hear-It Lite from Moon Valley: Personalizes the Windows desktop by
adding sound effects and replacing regular icons with clever icons.

SoundMan Wave comes with a three-year warranty and seven-day-a-week
technical support System requirements include: an IBM PC/AT or compatible
with a 386SX processor or higher, DOS 3.3 or higher, Windows 3.1 or
higher, 640K RAM (4 megabytes recommended for Windows use), one 16-bit
(full) slot, a hard drive, and speakers or headphones for output and a
microphone or other audio device (e.g CD player) for input A cable kit
will be available separately for connecting internal or external CD-ROM
drives purchased separately.
