Supra Ships Voice Upgrade

ALBANY, OR, NOVEMBER, 1993--Combining their expertise in high-end faxmodem
hardware and software, Supra Corporation and Cypress Research Corporation
have designed an integrated communications solution that allows users to
experience full-featured voice, fax, and data communications in the
Macintosh environment. The product is now shipping as an upgrade to owners
of high-speed SupraFAXModems.

The voice option is available to owners of V.32bis and V.32 faxmodems as a
$99.95 firmware/software upgrade. The firmware adds Supra Voice Processing
(SVP) to existing SupraFAXModems. The software, Supra Digital Messaging
System (DMS), developed with Cypress Research PhonePro, provides
sophisticated answering machine capabilities.

"The combined power of Supra's hardware and Cypress' software will let
users add the equivalent of a sophisticated digital answering machine to
most Mac systems," said John Wiley, President of Supra Corporation. "This
gives small business and home users unprecedented communications power."

Paul Hurley, President and CEO at Cypress added, "This joint venture brings
together a unique set of features that will help define the market for
integrated communication tools. It showcases new technologies developed to
allow advanced Mac-based communications."

Benefits of Voice Integration

Supra's unique SVP firmware design offers robust support for recognition of
touch-tone signals. This provides a convenient way to record, play, and
remotely access messages. The DMS software is both easy to use and
powerful. It includes a telephone tool for Apple Telephone Manager which
enables addition of future voice applications. Specific benefits of this
unique firmware/software combination include:

* A one-stop total solution to desktop communications: voice, fax, and data
calls can all be processed with a SupraFAXModem.

* Port arbitration effortlessly directs and manages incoming fax and voice
calls.

* Caller ID lets the user screen calls before the caller even hears a
message if Caller ID service is available from the local telephone
company.

* Flexible voice messaging options include custom greetings, time of day
greetings, and personal greetings for friends and colleagues.

* Date and time stamp tells when messages came in.

* Message folder for easy review of fax and voice messages on the desktop.

* Graphical easy-to-use sound editing capability.

System Requirements

The following system is required for using the new Supra voice upgrade:

* A SupraFAXModem V.32bis or SupraFAXModem V.32.

* Macintosh Plus or later (Macintosh with a minimum of a 68020 processor
recommended) with a hard drive and a minimum of 4 Megabytes of RAM.

* Apple System 7 or later operating system.

* FAXstf software version 2.2.3 or later for full support of fax/voice
arbitration.

* Sound input device (such as a microphone) is strongly recommended.

Power User's Option

PhonePro, an icon-based telephone applications builder, was used to develop
Supra Digital Messaging System. Users who want access to voice processing
programming tools, can purchase PhonePro with the voice upgrade kit for a
total of $349.95. This upgrade option includes the SVP ROM, a copy of DMS,
and a copy of PhonePro (a $449.95 value). Using the intuitive interface,
users can customize a telephone application that is exactly suited to
specific home or business needs: voice mail, fax on demand, call
forwarding, and more.
