U.S. ROBOTICS SUPPORTS ROCKWELL'S V.FAST CLASS MODULATION

SKOKIE, Ill., -- Nov. 10, 1993 -- U.S. Robotics, Inc. (NASDAQ:USRX) today
announced it has recently signed an agreement with Rockwell International
Corporation (NYSE:ROK) to incorporate Rockwell's V.Fast Class (V.FC)
technology for high-speed data modem transmission into selected U.S.
Robotics products.

"It is important to help our customers increase throughput and maintain
compatibility as the final pieces of the ITU-T V.34 standard are put in
place," said Jonathan Zakin, U.S. Robotics executive vice president, sales
and marketing. "Our customers rely on products that provide the widest
range of connectivity options and the highest speeds available. Our
support of non-ITU-T technologies such as V.FC assures that our products
meet these needs."

V.FC technology uses line probing techniques that permit adapting to symbol
rates which optimize the configuration of the modem to achieve the maximum
throughput supported by the telephone networks. This technology uses the
wider bandwidth available on today's telephone networks, making it
significantly more immune to noise and other telephone line impairments
than V.32 bis technology.

"U.S. Robotics has a well-recognized position in the industry as a leading
modem supplier. We are pleased with their selection of Rockwell's V.Fast
Class as an implementation choice for pre-V.34 modem products," said
Armando Geday, Rockwell International's business director, modem systems.

Rockwell's Telecommunications Business Segment includes three principal
businesses: the Digital Communications Division (DCD), the Switching
Systems Division (SSD) and the Microelectronics Technology Center (MTC).
DCD, headquartered in Newport Beach, Calif, has been a pioneer in modem
technology for more than 30 years. Today it is a world leader in fax and
data modem components.

Rockwell International is a multi-industry company applying advanced
technology to a wide range of products in its electronics, aerospace,
automotive, and graphics businesses.

U.S. Robotics, Inc., (NASDAQ:USRX), is a leading designer, manufacturer and
