VIRTUS WALKTHROUGH FOR WINDOWS CLAIMS PC/COMPUTING'S MVP AWARD

Cary, North Carolina (November 17, 1993)--Virtus Corporation's interactive
3-D modeling program, Virtus WalkThrough for Windows, has won PC/Computing
Magazine' s coveted Most Valuable Product award. Competing in the Painting
and Drawing Software category, Virtus WalkThrough for Windows topped Adobe
Photoshop 2.5, Corel CorelDRAW 4.0 and Micrografx Picture Publisher 4.0 to
win one of the industry's most sought-after recognitions. Winners were
announced Sunday at COMDEX/Fall in Las Vegas.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have received this award," said David Smith,
Virtus' founder and president. "It was an honor to be in competition with
such incredible products."

"This year's most valuable products and finalists have a lot to brag
about," said PC/Computing editor-in-chief Paul Somerson. "Their selection
is based on evaluations designed to determined which are real productivity
tools for the buyers who select them."

PC/Computing editors considered more than 5,000 new or updated hardware
products and almost 6,000 software packages, before selecting 93 products
in 31 categories as finalists for one of the industry' s most coveted
awards. To select the MVP finalists, the editors considered every major
product or significant
product upgrade introduced in the past twelve months. A dozen
semi-finalists were chosen in each category by evaluating each product's
usability, technological innovation, and its effectiveness in helping
business users get work done as productively as possible. The
semi-finalists' products were evaluated head-to-head, and the list was
narrowed to three.

Virtus WalkThrough for Windows is an object-oriented, real-time 3-D
graphics environment providing affordable, virtual exploration
capabilities. While an object is drawn in the 2-D window, the program
simultaneously displays its 3-D representation in an adjacent window.
Using a mouse, viewers can navigate through each window at will. Based on
the award-winning Macintosh version, Virtus WalkThrough for Windows allows
PC users to "walk through" their ideas. Applications the program has been
used for include: interior remodeling, factory floor layout, trade show
booth planning, theater set design, film storyboarding, product displays
and animated client presentations.

Virtus WalkThrough for Windows requires an IBM PC or compatible with a 386
or later processor, 4MB of RAM, a VGA monitor and Microsoft Windows
version 3.1 or later.
