Candela ColorCircuit Technology Enhances CorelDRAW 4 Color Separation
Capabilities

Candela is a leading licensor of high-precision color transform technology
- over 500,000 licensees worldwide!

Minneapolis, Minnesota, December 21, 1993 -- Candela Ltd. announced that
their ColorCircuit technology, providing professional-quality color
separation capabilities, has been incorporated into Corel Corporation's
most recent version of their award-winning graphics software, CorelDRAW
4.

"The inclusion of Candela's ColorCircuit technology into CorelDRAW 4 means
an unparalleled level of color separation capabilities," said Dr. Michael
Cowpland, president and CEO of Corel Corporation. "Users can realize the
power and potential of CorelDRAW professional color separation and
pre-press abilities, thanks to this addition."

"Our expertise is in very high-quality color transform algorithms that are
not available anywhere in the published literature. Our focus is to
provide the highest precision color solution tools for all environments
using the "C" programming language. We deliver our technology as software
libraries that we license to our customers," said John E. Grimaldi,
President of Candela.

"Corel's professional level graphics applications and international user
base allows Candela's color separation quality to benefit a large number
of customers at affordable prices," added Grimaldi.

CAndela's ColorCircuit technology ensures that when digital color
separations are performed on a graphics file created in CorelDRAW 4,
color-quality determining elements such as Gray Component Replacement
(GCR), Undercolor Removal (UCR) and dot grain function act independently
of each other and not effect the color of the printed media. By performing
this function, Candela's color separation technology adds advanced
prepress controls to the desktop publishing capabilities found in
CorelDRAW 4.

Founded in 1990 by former DICOMED Executives, John Grimaldi and Bruce
Lindbloom, Candela is a privately-owned Minnesota corporation. The core of
Candela's technology lies in their unique creation of high-order,
non-linear, non-separable ColorCircuit transforms. Candela specializes in
providing precision color transforms to software developers in the form of
"C" callable libraries. The color separation, color calibration and color
management tools developed by Candela are licensed directly to companies
worldwide.

Incorporated in 1985, Corel Corporation is recognized internationally as an
award-winning developer and marketer of PC graphics and SCSI software.
CorelDRAW, Corel's industry-leading graphics software, is available in
over ten languages and has to date won over 120 international awards from
major trade publications. Other Corel products include Corel Ventura 4.2,
