Frederick, MD (Jan 4, 1994) -- EVB Software Engineering, Inc. has
announced the commercial release of Reuse Library Toolset (RLT). RLT is a
system for creating and managing comprehensive libraries of reusable
assets independent of programming language, development methodologies, or
source of components.

Since learning the toolset *and* locating reusable components with RLT is
quick and easy, users are strongly encouraged to make the effort to search
for and reuse components.

For projects that benefit from the reuse of software (and other
development/organization artifacts), the cost of producing software will
be significantly reduced.

RLT features include Open Architecture development, Reuse Library Metrics,
Distributed Reuse Library Server, and support for multiple platforms.
With RLT's Open Architecture, users can integrate RLT directly into
existing software development environments, using RLT as a front end for
existing reuse library systems.

RLT will work with other development tools, such as versioning systems and
configuration management systems, including PVCS on DOS and RCS, SCCS,
CVS, and most commercial systems on UNIX. With the open architecture of
RLT, users can incorporate automatic metric collection into their
libraries.

RLT supports four distinct user roles within the toolset,

 o The Library Administrator
 o The Domain Analyst
 o The Repository Manager
 o The Searcher (End User).

The Library Administrator defines and maintains access control to each of
the libraries. The Domain Analyst defines the classification schema of a
component library. The Repository Manager defines and maintains
components in a library based upon the library schema definition. The
Searcher uses RLT to browse, identify and retrieve components from
libraries.

library of data structures (Generic Reusable Ada Components for
Engineering), and training for reuse is available from,
