Sybase To Market Trinzic's InfoHub For OmniSQL Gateway

Solution Provides Sybase Users with SQL Access to Non-Relational Mainframe
Data

Palo Alto, CA, January 17, 1994--Trinzic Corporation (NASDAQ:TRNZ) and
Sybase Inc. today announced an agreement to integrate the Trinzic InfoHub
software with the Sybase OmniSQL Gateway software. The combination of
these two powerful products constitutes the industry's most flexible,
high-performing legacy data access solution, enabling direct SQL access to
corporate data that is still stored in nonrelational, production systems.
These two products used together will allow users to read, update and join
mainframe data sources directly, including: CA/IDMS, IMS, VSAM, Adabas,
DB/2 and sequential files from the many popular front-end application
tools written to the Sybase DB Library specification.

Successful Partnership Strategy

"We are extremely pleased to be chosen as a key technology component of
Sybase's connectivity solution. The demand for legacy data access is very
strong, with approximately 85% of corporate data still managed by legacy
database management systems, as the drive toward client/server production
systems continues to gain momentum," said Trinzic vice President of
Business Development, Alan L. Codkind. "Sybase has aggressively positioned
itself for success in this market with its Omni strategy. By adding value
to Sybase's OmniSQL Gateway, Trinzic plans to leverage this rapidly
growing customer base to expand the market for InfoHub dramatically."

"Combined with the existing technology and marketing agreements with
Trinzic's first InfoHub strategic Affiliate partner, Micro Decisionware
Inc.(MDI), InfoHub becomes the product of choice for legacy data access of
the top two gateway products, representing a significant percentage of the
worldwide gateway market. Through the combined resources of Trinzic, MDI
and Sybase, our new strategic Affiliate, InfoHub will have broader market
coverage than any other product in its category. This agreement is a key
milestone in Trinzic's strategy for building indirect channels for its
data access and connectivity products," concluded Codkind.

Quick and Easy Access to Critical Data Without Mainframe Coding

According to Sybase Vice President, Connectivity Products Group, Mark A.
Page, "The agreement between Trinzic and Sybase will yield a joint
solution that makes our customers the clear winners by enhancing their
access to large stores of non-relational enterprise data which is critical
to their decision support and application development processes. Many
customers have chosen Sybase SQLServer as their strategic RDBMS for future
client/server development. They also have a great deal of important
production data in non-relational mainframe systems. InfoHub and OmniSQL
Gateway provide the means to bridge these two worlds. OmniSQL Gateway and
InfoHub provide customers with the legacy data access they need. It also
enables them to join nonrelational data with all the ease of use afforded
by their front-end tools such as Trinzic's Forest & Trees, Sybase's Gain
Momentum, PowerBuilder, Visual Basic and Q+E Software."

The Trinzic Partnership is a Winning Combination for Sybase Customers

Under terms of the agreement Sybase will internationally market Trinzic's
InfoHub middleware software with its OmniSQL Gateway product line both
through its direct sales force and its third party channels. This
represents hundreds of direct sales professionals and more than 400
third-party resellers. InfoHub provides what no other product has
delivered to the marketplace, access and update capability to
non-relational mainframe DBMSs, automatic generation of all DBMS specific
code and support for advanced relational features like triggers and stored
procedures. This cooperative partnership will provide Sybase users with a
link to non-relational mainframe data. Sybase OmniSQL Gateway provides
sophisticated access from the network and Trinzic's InfoHub technology
handles the DBMS interface.
