INGRAM MICRO TO DISTRIBUTE NCD'S PC-X SOFTWARE PRODUCTS

BEAVERTON, Ore., Jan. 10, 1994 -- Ingram Micro, the world's largest
microcomputer products distributor, will distribute Network Computing
Devices' PC X server software products, a line of PC-to-UNIX integration
tools for the Windows and DOS environments.

An agreement between Ingram and NCD calls for Ingram to begin nationwide
distribution this month of PC-Xware and PC-Xview for DOS, two software
packages that allow Microsoft Windows- and DOS-based PCs, respectively, to
display X Window System applications running on networked UNIX or VMS host
computers.

Ingram is the first national distributor for NCD's PC-X Division, located
in Beaverton, Ore., which previously had sold its products through a
network of UNIX distributors.

John Fraissinet, vice president and general manager of NCD's PC-X Division,
said, "National distribution has become essential to respond to a market
that has grown significantly since we introduced PC-Xware in mid-1993.
Ingram's interest in distributing our products is a clear signal that PC X
servers have moved beyond the technical UNIX-centric world into the
mainstream. The agreement demonstrates NCD's long-term commitment to a
two-tier distribution strategy for our PC-X line."

Amy Hoffman, senior director of Ingram Micro's Technical Products Division,
said, "Windows-to-UNIX integration tools such as PC-Xware are emerging as
critical components of any strategy to bring PC desktops into today's open
systems environment. Our agreement reflects Ingram's recognition of NCD as
the leader in this area of the PC software market and as an excellent
partner to help us target this market's rapid growth."

NCD will be conducting intensive training of more than 400 Ingram sales
representatives on the PC-X products this month.
