Desktop Video Conferencing Software Provider InVision Systems Corp. Ships
its New Release 2.0

New Release 2.0 Offers Windows 3.1 LAN/WAN Users a Real-Time, Multi-tasking
Engine and IPX Support

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan 10, 1994 -- At this year's ComNet'94 exhibition, to
be held Jan 25 - 27, InVision Systems Corporation will be demonstrating
its new 2.0 Release of InVision Video Conferencing for Windows in Booth
#2337.

InVision is the video conferencing industry's first packet-based,
Real-Time, Full-Motion, Audio and Video Conferencing solution that was
designed exclusively to operate over today's LAN and WAN networking
infrastructures, including Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, Frame Relay, ATM
and ISDN.

"We're all extremely excited about Release 2.0," said James J. Geddes, Jr.,
President and CEO of InVision Systems. "Developing our Real-Time,
Pre-Emptive Delivery and Multi-tasking engine is an immense engineering
accomplishment, for it delivers our users the performance that is promised
by Microsoft Corp. in its upcoming Chicago release. Moreover, porting
InVision to Novell's IPX protocol, eliminates the need to purchase and
install TCP/IP software on the workstation for the purpose of
accommodating our InVision application. IPX support opens many new
opportunities for us that are not yet available in the Windows-based
TCP/IP software industry, foremost of which is the ability to have a
one-to-many Video Conference session."

"Since our shipment of the 1.0 version in June, we've continuously
monitored our customer feedback and responded with an aggressive and
timely salvo of highly significant technological enhancements that
breathes a new and even higher level of functionality into the product"
said Michael Thompson, Vice President of Product Development.

"The predicted future of visual communications technology is definitely on
the LAN connected desktop. Support for routable protocols such as IPX and
TCP/IP allows our InVision solution to be a very elegant network
application" said Geddes "InVision is the first company to get it," said
Paul Callahan, senior analyst for Forrester Research of Cambridge, Mass.
"At the desktop, video conferencing has to rely on PC LAN technology as
the distribution mechanism. It's not any easy problem to solve, but
that's the reality."

Release 2.0 of InVision includes numerous features which eliminate the
deleterious aspects of other video conferencing systems. New for Release
2.0 are:

* Real-Time, Pre-Emptive Multi-tasking Engine, which delivers
Audio and Video to the network over IPX or VxD-based TCP/IP
stacks, resulting in greatly reduced latency.
* IPX support allows InVision to operate over Novell's native
  protocol
* User Configurable Bandwidths from 56Kbps to 512Kbps
* User Configurable Frame Rates from 1 to 15 Frames-per-Second
* Image Capture and Storage in eleven popular formats, including
JPEG, Encapsulated Postscript, Windows Metafile, TIFF, BMP,
PCX, TGA, DCX, WPG, GIF and PICT.
* Driver support for popular Codec boards: Action-Media II by
Intel/IBM, Mambo DVI by MediaShare, PCTV-SLC by Ace Coin Ltd.,
and DVI Board by Fast Electronics.
* Visual Address Book
* Two 'Live & Scalable' Video Windows: One of yourself and One
  of the Remote individual
* Improved Video Quality and Resolution
* Improved In-Band Audio

InVision Systems Corp. intends to offer additional Codec Driver support in
its InVision product for the CCITT standards H.320 and H.261, JPEG, as
well as Intel's Indeo and Microsoft's Video for Windows technology.
Support for these and other features are scheduled for later in the
year.

An optional 'White Board' application is also available, called
VisionGraphics. This new capability incorporates Future Labs. TALKShow's
interactive 'White Board' system that allows multiple users to collaborate
on the same document and files. VisionGraphics comes with a wide range of
annotating tools, including a freehand pencil, color markers, arrows,
pointers, circles, rectangles, text, and eraser, so each member of a
document conference session can give his or her own comments about the
shared text or image.

InVision 2.0 is now available in a Software-only version (which includes
documentation) and is priced at $995 per copy, with quantity and Reseller
pricing available. InVision's optional VisionGraphics program sells for
$195 per copy. The Company also offers InVision 'Compatible' Hardware
items, such as: Single ISA-slot Codec Boards, Color Video Camera's and
multimedia-based Telephone Handset assemblies in various configurations.

InVision 2.0 operates on any LAN or WAN system, with the System
Requirements being any 386/486-based PC running Microsoft Windows 3.1, 4
Mb of RAM or higher, 3 Mb of available disk space, VGA, SVGA or better
graphics card, one 16-bit expansion slot (full-length), TCP/IP software
(Windows Sockets API Compliant) or IPX, NDIS, ODI or Packet Driver
support for the Network Interface Cards.
