EA*Kids' Scooter's Magic Castle Adventure Enhanced in New Release on
CD-ROM

Magical Activities Made More Dynamic, Voice Overs Added

SAN MATEO, Calif., Dec. 22, 1993 - Taking advantage of the enhanced
graphics and sound quality afforded by the platform, EA*Kids has released
the accomplished title, Scooter's Magic Castle, on IBM CD-ROM.

With 25 learning games and three easily adjustable skill levels, Scooter
challenges children to explore a castle full of magical learning games.
The program has more activities than any other title on the market for
children ages 5 to 8. Each activity reinforces important learning skills
such as critical thinking, counting and fractions, colors, pattern
recognition, keyboarding and creativity. A hallmark of EA*Kids products,
the educational component of the child's experience occurs while they are
captivated by this colorful and lively animation.

Scooter, an energetic pal who loves to explore, guides children on an
interactive tour of a huge, three-floor magic castle. The adventure
reveals a new game behind every castle door and stained-glass window. For
instance, children can create colorful monsters in the secret laboratory,
grow their own magic garden on the castle grounds and go fishing in the
castle moat. Theo, a wise old owl who accompanies Scooter through every
room, provides on-line help at any point throughout the adventure.

With 256-color graphics, fluid animation and eight activity-appropriate
melodies, children have a variety of components to constantly keep their
attention. An intuitive interface lets them select objects with a mouse
click or simple keyboard commands. The program also comes with a
fun-filled activity guide that parents and children can work on together.

The CD-ROM release improves the audio-visual quality of what was already a
successful and well-respected product in the children's software
marketplace. Indeed, one reviewer says "Scooter offers many more hours of
play and exploration than any game in its class." (Lance Elko, Game
Player's Magazine).

The CD-ROM version offers a number of superior features, such as a narrated
voice over throughout the adventure and significantly enhanced graphics
which create the feeling of a living guided tour.

In addition to IBM CD-ROM, Scooter's Magic Castle is currently available on
MS-DOS for IBM PC and compatibles, and Macintosh. The product retails for
$49.95 and is available in leading software retail outlets nationwide.
