MDIS and mdbs to Develop Schema Generator

mdbs and McDonnell Information Systems (MDIS), an international technology
company that supplies global solutions for open systems environments, are
joining forces to create a powerful tool. Using mdbs' database engine and
MDIS' PROIV Workbench CASE tools and fourth-generation development
language, the two companies have developed a database schema generator.
This venture combines over 100 years' experience in database, Al,
re-engineering, and CASE tools technology.

MDIS' PRO-IV Workbench is engineered to work naturally with mdbs' database
engine. The interface between these two products allows for automatic
database schema generation. PRO-IV Workbench is used to create a graphical
diagram of an application's entity-relationship data model. PRO-IV
Workbench then automatically creates an mdbs database schema that
implements the application's entity-relationship model directly in the
database.

PRO-IV Workbench has several exclusive features that enhance the schema
generation:

* real-time workgroup data-sharing in a multiuser LAN environment

* robust repository-based management and control of all project facts

* screen and report prototyping with life-like executable simulations of
real systems

* extensive standard reporting complemented by powerful and flexible ad hoc
query and reporting of all project facts

The mdbs engine supports complex data relationships directly in the
database. This direct support produces efficient, high-performance
applications that implement real-world, complex data models. PRO-IV
Workbench graphically depicts the files used and then generates the
description of the schema in a high-level language specific to the
database.

mdbs is proud to be associated with MDIS, a company with a 22-year history
in investment software applications and hardware technology. To learn more

MDBS IV for Windows NT

Windows NT is the newest version of the MDBS IV client/server database
engine. The Windows NT version of MDBS IV is fully scalable and provides a
simple solution to the problem of writing applications to be implemented
on different hardware configurations.

Developing an application is usually complex and time-consuming, but MDBS
IV for Windows NT permits an application to be implemented without
changing the application code. The database server features full 32-bit
architecture and provides fast flat-model access to the full physical
memory of a machine. Shared-memory client/server communication enables
multiple users to speedily access the database via a Windows Graphical
User Interface. In addition, the investment made in developing an
application for one hardware configuration can be easily leveraged to many
other configurations. Users of the MDBS IV DOS version will find it easy
to upgrade to the Windows NT version . Pricing is dependent on the
development platform hardware. Call mdbs at (800) 445-mdbs for more
information.
