Logitech Announces Agreement with Helix Software to Develop "Cloaked" Mouse
Driver

Helix's Cloaking Technology Gives Competitive Edge

Fremont, Calif. -- January 14, 1994 -- Logitech Inc., international market
leader in products to "humanize" the computer, today announced an
agreement to use Helix Software's "Cloaking" technology to develop DOS
Cloaking mouse drivers using little or no memory. Logitech will
incorporate this new technology in its next release of MouseWare software,
MouseWare 6.4, scheduled to ship in early April.

"As our DOS driver becomes more feature-rich, the size of the driver also
increases," says Denis Pavillard, pointing device software manager. "We
want to make sure users take advantage of our new software and are not
deterred by memory requirements. By incorporating Helix Software's
Cloaking technology, we will be able to keep the powerful features and
take only a small amount of conventional memory."

Helix Software, makers of the award-winning memory manager, NETROOM,
developed the Cloaking technology to allow device drivers and TSRs
(terminate and stay resident programs) to run in protected mode using no
conventional memory. With Helix's toolkit, vendors can develop Cloaked
utilities which operate with all major memory managers including MS-DOS
and Novell DOS NETROOM, QEMM, and 386MAX. With the proliferation of
CD-ROMS networks, and other devices requiring large amounts of memory
Cloaking technology gives developers a competitive advantage by allowing
them to provide TSRs and device drivers that do not take up memory.

"We are very excited that Logitech has joined the growing list of vendors
using our advanced Cloaking technology," says Michael Spilo, president of
Helix Software. "With the power of protected mode Cloaking allows drivers
to run faster and more reliably, and to use far less memory. This promises
to provide a competitive edge to vendors who adopt Cloaking and to
increase their sales."

The Cloaking Developer's Toolkit began shipping in December 1993 and is
priced at $299 for a single-user license. It is available directly from
Helix Software. Software developers can contact Helix Software to obtain
low-cost licenses permitting the inclusion of Helix Cloaking device
drivers with their programs.
