LAS VEGAS, NV, January 6, 1994 -- Accolade today announced the upcoming
release of Rise of the Robots, the ultimate combat game. Accolade licensed
the product for North American distribution from Mirage Technologies
Multi-Media Ltd., a leading European publisher of entertainment software.
Developed by Mirage Technologies' in-house design team, Instinct Design,
the game offers spectacular 3D animation and sophisticated artificial
intelligence that provides the appearance and feel of a movie.

Players experience a new level of arcade style computer gaming as visual
contouring techniques create 3D visual objects which can be manipulated
and given movement in real time. Players can challenge the computer, or
choose the two player option.

Rise of the Robots is set in Metropolis 4, a vast Electrocorp building
where military and industrial robotics are manufacturing. All human staff
in the building have been replaced by a super intelligent robot - the
'Supervisor', which has been programmed to manage the building and all of
its production. Unfortunately, an ego virus has infected the Supervisor
causing it to take over the security defenses of the building and all the
robots within it.

In a desperate attempt to save the building, the owners of the complex have
sent in a Cyborg, which is immune to the virus. Created from robotic and
human parts, the Cyborg has transmitters which connect it to the
Electrocorp digital information network.

Players control the Cyborg in battles against five types of enemy robots as
well as the Supervisor, whose abilities to metamorphosize include melting
to avoid a punch, forming anvils and spikes for hands, and turning into a
metal block as a defense. Each robot is governed by its own artificial
intelligence which will affect the style with which it fights, providing
extended and much varied gameplay.
