ELECTRONIC ARTS MAKES $50,000+ AVAILABLE FOR THE MOST CREATIVE SCHOLARSHIP
CONTEST ENTRANTS

DOES YOUR CHILD HAVE A $25,000 IMAGINATION?

December 21, 1993 -- San Mateo, CA -- Six business organizations led by
Electronic Arts Distribution, the distribution arm of Electronic Arts
(NASDAQ:ERTS), a leading international interactive entertainment company,
believe so strongly in the value of using technology to enrich learning
that they have teamed up to reward two especially-talented children for
the exceptional creativity they bring to the design of new
educationally-oriented interactive software.

These fortunate children (one from the 3-7 age group and one from the 8-14
age group) will be the two grand prize winners of the exciting new "Does
Your Child Have a $25,000 Imagination?" contest sponsored by EA*Kids,
MindPlay, Morgan Interactive, and Sanctuary Woods Multimedia in
association with EduQuest, the IBM company serving the K-12 educational
market, and the international learning center, Futurekids, Inc.

What's this all about? It's about nurturing a child's imagination--an
endless resource for new and growing ideas--the ultimate origin of the
interactive computer game. That's what this is about: tapping into the
seed of creativity inherent in every child and turning it into the future.
Two $25,000 scholarships to be put toward a child's education, to be
precise. A panel of judges has been chosen to award the grand prizes and
runner-ups. The judges are made up of a select group of educational
software publishers and producers. Electronic Arts Distribution is giving
children a chance to get their ideas into a computer game. All the child
needs to do is come up with the great idea, send in the information in
accordance with the rules and regulations, and leave the rest to our panel
of judges. The contest is in effect now and runs through 6/30/94.

The prizes: Grand Prize-One $25,000 scholarship payable towards (tuition)
will be awarded in each of two age groups 3-7 and 8-14, for the best entry
in each group. First Prize-One winner in each age group receives an
EduQuest Forty Family Package 486SX, 25mhz, color monitor, mouse, dual
floppy drives, 256 Mb hard drive, 22 pre-loaded software titles with
speakers, int'l fax, and microphone (approx. $2,000 value each winner).
Second Prize-Ten winners in each age group receive an Educational Software
Library, 10 products (approx. $500.00 value each winner). Third Prize-Ten
winners in each age group receive any FutureKids course of choice (approx.
$90.00 value each winner). Winners will be notified by mail on or before
8/18/94. Entries must be received no later than 7/10/94.

In the past several years, we have watched technology and education grow
and merge. Computers have grown beyond business applications. With
computers, children have a new avenue of expression that has become a
powerful learning tool. To take advantage of this medium, Electronic Arts
Distribution's products feature engaging animated characters that
personalize a child's learning experience.

"With the emergence of EA*Kids, our new brand of educational software from
Electronic Arts, I feel that this scholarship program reinforces our
commitment to the development of fun, challenging educational software
that will inspire our children," commented Diane Flynn, Marketing Director
of EA*Kids. "While encouraging a child's imagination, Electronic Arts
Distribution is pleased to be providing our grand prize winners with such
a large contribution towards their scholastic futures."
