BERT, ERNIE & BIG BIRD COME TO THE 3DO SYSTEM: EA*KIDS, RELEASES FIRST
TITLE WITH CTW, SESAME STREET: NUMBERS

PRODUCT DEBUT AT 1994 WINTER CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW

SAN MATEO, Calif., January 6, 1994 -- EA*Kids and the Children's Television
Workshop have produced their first title for the 3DO Interactive
Multiplayer system. "Sesame Street: Numbers" is a delightful early
learning game that introduces children ages 3 - 6 to the world of numbers,
while providing the quality look and feel of the classic Sesame Street
children's television series. EA*Kids is the children's software division
of Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS).

Sesame Street: Numbers excites children about learning as they interact
with their favorite characters from the television show. With Elmo as
their host, children visit different environments in the Sesame Street
world: the street itself, Bert and Ernie's house, the Count's castle and
Big Bird's nest. In each setting, they play with the characters, talk on
the phone, and activate amusing animations. The title also includes more
than an hour's worth of music and clips from the television show.

"CIW (Children's Television Workshop) and EA*Kids share a similar
philosophy--that kids learn when they're engaged, and engagement stems
from open-ended discovery and creative explorations," said Greg Bestick,
vice president and general manager of EA*Kids. "All of the activities in
Sesame Street Numbers' reflect that thinking."

"We are just delighted with the relationship with EA*Kids, n said Rob
Madell, CIW vice president for interactive technology. "Together, CI-W and
EA*Kids are creating products that will engage and empower children."

While playing "Sesame Street Numbers," children practice recognizing
numbers and counting, and explore a variety of math concepts such as the
ideas of "classification,'' "sets," and "near and far."

Designed to optimize the graphics and data transfer power of the 3DO
system, "Sesame Street: Numbers" features smooth animations, digitized
speech recorded by the actors From the television series, and an
interactive "television set" where children can play back actual clips
from the TV show.

The first title to be produced under EA*Kids and CIW's exclusive agreement,
"Sesame Street: Numbers" incorporates the talents of both companies. CIW
provides concept and curriculum development, product design, and research
with children. EA*Kids consults on all aspects of the product and provides
marketing and distribution.

"Sesame Street: Numbers" will be available nationwide in March 1994 at a
suggested retail price of $49.95.
