Sigma Designs And EE Multimedia Productions Unveil Six New
Software Titles For Sigma's Ground Breaking ReelMagic Technology

FREMONT, Calif., December 21, 1993 -- Sigma Designs, Inc. (NASDAQ--SIGM), a
leading manufacturer of PC and Macintosh displays and multimedia products,
today announced the latest software developer for its ReelMagic
technology, adding to its growing list of software vendors supporting the
platform. EE Multimedia Productions, a major producer of multimedia and
educational software, has ported six of its most popular CD-ROM
interactive tides to the ReelMagic platform. Two of the titles are
available immediately, with the rest to ship by January 15, 1994. The two
companies have also signed an agreement whereby Sigma Designs will have
full rights to distribute EE Multimedia's ReelMagic-compatible software
titles.

"We are very excited about signing EE Multimedia as a ReelMagic software
developer and we expect them to release many more titles in the near
future," said Thinh Tran, chairman and CEO of Sigma Designs. "They have
managed to very quickly produce several MPEG titles, including pieces
which combine classical music with picturesque scenes of some of the
world's most majestic landscapes, as well as top-notch educational titles
on engaging topics."

ReelMagic is an innovative new MPEG multimedia playback controller which
allows ordinary PC systems to deliver full-screen, full-motion, full-color
video combined with CD-quality stereo sound -- all from a standard CD-ROM
drive. Based on the widely accepted MPEG (Motion Picture Experts Group)
standard for video and audio compression and decompression, ReelMagic
allows compressed MPEG software content to be decompressed on-the-fly and
played back at 30 fps (frames per second), the same playback speed that is
used with today's home TV, but with higher image resolution.

The MPEG standard has been backed by a large consortium of companies
including 3DO, Philips, Sony, JVC, Masushita, Goldstar, and Samsung,
thereby ensuring popular support for it among the software community. Most
leading entertainment, educational and multimedia software vendors are
currently developing titles for ReelMagic based on this standard, with
many expected to ship in the December/January time frame.

"Sigma Designs' ReelMagic board allows us to produce the next generation in
interactive CD-ROM software," said John Evans, founder of EE Multimedia
Productions. "We are committed to developing for the ReelMagic board
because its true full-motion capabilities enable the user to have a more
profound, lifelike experience with the software title."

EE Multimedia's array of software titles, all which will ship between now
and January 15, demonstrate the advantages of combining interactive
multimedia capabilities with educational resources:

Mozart Visits Yosemite

The first in the series of Mozart titles, Mozart Visits Yosemite combines
two miracles of nature together for the first time; the musical genius of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the magnificent majesty of Yosemite National
Park. As with all the titles in the Mozart series, the one-hour audio and
visual extravaganzas were created by Joseph Patrick Cosgrove and Jay
Hathaway in association with EE Multimedia. Mozart Visits Yosemite is
available now.

Mozart Visits Grand Canyon

A one hour mixture of audio from Mozart's greatest musical themes with
visuals of the Grand Canyon splendor, Mozart Visits the Grand Canyon
provides an awesome multimedia experience for the user.

Mozart Visits Yellowstone

The next in the Mozart series, Mozart Visits Yellowstone offers a visual
feast of Yellowstone National Park's remarkable sights with the harmonious
music of Mozart.

Mozart Visits Hawaii

Featuring elegant, scenic cinematography, the sounds of nature and superb
music by Mozart, Mozart Visits Hawaii allows the user to experience the
magical feeling of being on the Pacific island.

Learning Fly Fishing

Learning Fly Fishing allows the user to master the 500-year old sport of
fly fishing with the help of one of the sport's best teachers,
professional instructor Gean Snow. Containing nearly an hour of
full-motion video and sound, illustrations, schematic drawings, paintings,
and still photos, Learning Fly Fishing also offers over 100 pages of text,
a glossary, and a fascinating history of fly fishing. Learning Fly Fishing
on CD-ROM is an excellent instructional tool which is convenient,
self-paced and hands-on.

The Nature of Hunting

The Nature of Hunting demonstrates man's instinct as a hunter and shows how
the hunter enjoys an intimate relationship with wild animals unlike any
other. Captured too in this title are rare and intimate glimpses of
wildlife -- showing nature as it really is. The Nature of Hunting is now
shipping.

ReelMagic is available now from Sigma Designs for a suggested retail price
of $449 and comes with a five-year warranty on parts and labor, plus a
ReelMagic version of a popular adventure game. All EE Multimedia titles
will ship by January 15, 1994 and carry suggested retail prices of
$24.95.
