Multimedia Disc offers Help and Advice to Connoisseurs and Novices

SEATTLE, WA--January 13, 1994--Multicom Publishing, Inc. today released MPC
and Macintosh versions of Wines of the World contained on a single CD-ROM
disc.

Huge Interactive Resource -- The Database section of Wines of the World
contains entries for more than 20,000 individual wines. Users can search
for specific wines based upon region, variety, vintner, year, rating, and
more.

Atlas of growing Regions--A world map lets people explore specific
wine-producing countries and regions. Clicking on the map gives increasing
detail, down to the level of an individual producer. users can listen to
narration telling about a specific region-how the location, climate, and
soil affect the wines produced there. Some wineries have audio clips in
which individual vintners share their opinions on wine, wine production,
and significant factors affecting wine.

Entertaining Learning Tool--Wines of the World contains extensive
information to help a novice wine drinker become an experienced
connoisseur. Users can view the entire process, from planting vines,
through harvesting, fermentation, and blending, to bottling and storage.
Animated sequences, color photographs, narration, and video explaining
production, handling, and storage. Additional sequences discuss how to
match a wine to planned meals; how to form personal judgments about a
wine; and how to create a personal wine cellar.

System Reguirements--Wines of the World will run on an MPC-compliant
personal computer. On the Apple Macintosh, Wines of the World requires a
color Macintosh with a 13" screen or larger, and a CD-ROM drive, running
HyperCard and System 6.07 or greater.

Retail Price--Wines of the World retails for $59.95, and can be purchased
from software and computer retailers.
