Xiphias Adds Twenty Minutes Of Video To CD-ROM Cookbook

Xiphias' best -selling New Basics Electronic Cookbook will be rereleased in
August, enhanced with almost 20 minutes of video. One of the few CD-ROMs
designed for women, the New Basics Cookbook has defined the standard for
multimedia products designed for home use.

With 1800 recipes drawn from the best selling series of cookbooks written
by Julie Rosso and Sheila Lukins (8,000,000 copies sold to date), the New
Basics Electronic Cookbook already boasts 20 minutes of voice-overs by the
authors, and over 500 color images of recipe ingredients. The new video
sequences have been produced by Emmy award winning broadcaster Kim Devore,
whose most recent position was anchorwoman on a leading independent TV
station in Los Angeles.

The Xiphias product exploits video playback technology licensed by
Mediavision. The electronic cookbook is a Windows-compatible DOS
application, which will run on PC compatibles with only 1 mb of memory.
Xiphias is a Los Angeles-based publisher of interactive CD-ROM products.
Xiphias' present product line includes The Time Table of History series,
The American Heritage Illustrated Encyclopedic Dictionary and the New
Basics Electronic Cookbook. Xiphias will introduce four new titles at the
Consumer Electronic Show in June.
