FUJITSU MOBILE COMPUTERS TO AUTOMATE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Property Managers use mobile computers for facility inspection.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 14, 1994 -- Fujitsu Personal Systems, Inc.
(FPSI), today announced that American Building Maintenance Industries,
Inc. (ABM) of San Francisco, has selected the Fujitsu 325Point pen-based
mobile computer to automate its office facilities management services. The
325Point pen-based solution will integrate the "Facility Maintenance
Inspection System" application software developed by Pen Rite Systems
which provides facilities inspection and improved quality control software
to the facilities management industry

The mobile computing solution, initially being implemented in sites in Los
Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston was designed to provide ABM
Janitorial's building and property supervisors with automated data entry
for functions including quality control facilities inspections, tenant
surveys, work orders, employee notice documentation and remote document
printing.

The system enables ABM Janitorial to computerize quality control documents
and generate real-time reports for building owners and property managers
in order to validate completed work. Previously, reports were gathered
manually and then dictated for transcription, resulting in two to three
week report turnaround. The immediacy provided by Fujitsu's 325Point gives
ABM Janitorial a definite competitive advantage. The system also increases
worker productivity by eliminating paper-based reporting and allows for
the long term tracking of service performance by facility, facility type
and region.

"The ABM application is another good example of a successful mobile
computing application," said Lou Panetta, Fujitsu's executive vice
president. "This is a strategic solution because it provides a high return
on investment, increased worker productivity and improved data quality.
This enables ABM Janitorial to deliver a much higher level of customer
service.

"The system is expected to yield a competitive advantage in procuring new
business as well as maintaining our current customer base through
immediate turnaround of inspection and quality control information," said
Ken Edge, ABM Janitorial 's Senior Vice President. "We needed a mobile
solution that could meet our immediate needs and enable us to remain at
the forefront of the industry; Fujitsu's 325Point more than exceeded our
expectations."

The Fujitsu 325Point is a three pound tablet-sized pen-based system
designed for mobile workers who are involved in decision support
activities. It offers extensive battery life with a rechargeable NiCad or
NiMH battery under an advanced power management system The 325Point is
powered by a 25-MHz AMD 386SXLV CPU. Its RAM is expandable to 12 MB and
has two Type I/II/III PCMCIA version 2.0 slots. The computer has a 9 4
inch (diagonal) transflective LCD display with VGA support at 640x480
resolution. It is designed to be easily adapted for use with various
peripherals such as printers, wireless communication devices, and cradles
for vehicle mounting.
