ARIS ENTERTAINMENT & ABC NEWS TO PRODUCE BROADCAST-QUALITY CLIP MEDIA
TITLES

Geographical & Medical Titles Will Include Broadcast-Quality Maps and
Illustrations Taken From ABC News Broadcasts For Educational & Clip Media
Applications

March 1, 1994 -- (INTERMEDIA, SAN JOSE) -- Aris Entertainment has entered
into a relationship with the Capital Cities/ABC Multimedia Group to
develop and market clip media CD-ROM titles based on the professionally
designed, high-quality maps and illustrations used by the ABC News in all
of its programming, including the nation's #1 rated evening newscast,
"World News Tonight with Peter Jennings."

Clip media is the multimedia equivalent of clip art, combining
broadcast-quality images, illustrations, audio, video and text in a single
vehicle that can be easily accessed by the user.

Four titles will initially ship in the series, said Chris Kitze, president
of Aris Entertainment. The tides, which are expected to ship early in the
third quarter of 1994, will be based on maps of the world, maps of North
America, maps of Europe and Asia, and medical illustrations and
backgrounds. The titles will also include basic information and statistics
about the world, various nations and states. The list price of the CD-ROM
titles has not yet been set, but is expected to fall in line with Aris'
current $29.95 suggested list price for clip media titles.

"No other publisher is providing broadcast-quality clip media of world
geography or health and medicine," said Kitze. "We feel these are among
the most popular topics in multimedia presentations overall. These new
titles will allow even the most rudimentary of multimedia authoring
systems, or even simple PC presentation software, to overlay text on the
same graphics used on 'ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings."

"Our new relationship with Capital Cities/ABC represents a great
opportunity for Aris Entertainment to broaden both our content and
distribution," continued Kitze. "Users of Aris' current MediaClips series
will greatly benefit from the ability to bring television network quality
content to those who normally could not afford it."

The new CD-ROM titles will be distributed to computer and mass market
channels through Compton's NewMedia domestically, as well as through Aris'
proprietary network of international distributors and OEM agreements.
Capital Cities/ABC will also distribute the titles in the educational
market through its existing educational materials and multimedia
divisions.

Each title is expected to contain approximately 100 maps and/or
illustrations accompanied by descriptive text, as well as 100 original
audio clips scored expressly for these titles and 25 animated videos. The
videos, which be full-motion computer-generated animation backed by audio,
can be played back without any additional hardware through the disc's
run-time Video for Windows and QuickTime compatibility or in full-motion,
full-screen form using an MPEG (Motion Picture Experts Group) board.

The presentation materials in these clip media titles may be used
royalty-free in non-commercial multimedia applications, provided credit is
given to Aris Entertainment and ABC News.

"As we look at the total multimedia landscape, one can see that there is a
need for this type of product," said Patricia Vance, vice president,
Capital Cities/ABC Multimedia Group. "Traditional computer developers
could never hope to compete technologically with the high-end,
broadcast-quality graphics generated by a network news organization. These
titles literally squeeze millions of dollars of ABC Television Network
technology and manpower into a single CD' ROM disc that can easily be
afforded by anyone with a multimedia PC."

Aris Multimedia Entertainment, Inc., was founded in 1991, by Chris Kitze
