LabVIEW Book Available Soon

McGraw-Hill Inc. has announced late spring availability of a new book
titled LabVIEW Graphical Programming Techniques. Written by long-time
LabVIEW user and consultant Gary W. Johnson, the 600-page book offers an
in-depth examination of LabVIEW roots, DAQ basics such as inputs and
outputs, and LabVIEW programming techniques.

Johnson also devotes complete chapters on using LabVIEW to develop PC-based
instrumentation systems in each of the following application areas - data
acquisition, instrument drivers, data visualization and image processing,
physics, process control, and automated test. Projected retail price is
$45, which includes a LabVIEW disk with example VIs.

Technical reviewers of the book during its development included Jeff
Kodosky, vice president of Research and Development at National
Instruments and a co-inventor of LabVIEW. "Not only has
Gary Johnson written an accurate and enjoyable account of LabVIEW and its
use in a variety of applications, he has also provided a concise and
informative introduction to common measurement techniques," says Kodosky.
"He has done a superb job in describing LabVIEW and a variety of
applications that can be built upon it. His relaxed writing style is a
pleasure to read, tricking you into learning something without really
making an effort."
