MICROPHONE LT FOR MACINTOSH GOES COMMERCIAL

Software Ventures breaks price barrier--offers quality communications
software for under $50

Berkeley, California -- March 4, 1994 -- Software Ventures Corporation adds
an attractively priced entry-level edition of MicroPhone to its
award-winning communications software line. A successor to a popular
product previously only available to modem manufacturers, MicroPhone LT is
a complete communications package that enables novice users to easily and
intuitively communicate with other personal computers, minicomputers,
mainframes and remote electronic information services. According to David
Hindawi, president of Software Ventures, "It is aimed primarily at
Macintosh communicators who are frustrated by shareware-grade
communications software but are unable to afford the price tag typically
associated with higher-end products." MicroPhone LT carries a suggested
retail price of $49.95 and will be available on store shelves Monday,
March 7, 1994.

EASY SETUP

Step by step, MicroPhone LT's comprehensive manual guides users through the
online world, from connecting modem cables to dialing another computer.
PowerDriver, a core feature to all versions of MicroPhone, makes
initializing modems easy and allows users to set up and configure their
modems with a minimum of effort. Using familiar pop-up menus, users can
set speaker volume, control error correction, data compression and make
other necessary changes.

COMMUNICATIONS POWER

MicroPhone LT supports all the popular terminals and protocols. In addition
to emulating Wyse 50 and PC ANSI terminals, it supports a wide range of VT
terminals, including VT320. It offers a fast and reliable ZMODEM, which
allows the transfer of a group of files with a single mouse click and the
resumption of broken transfers with no loss of time. Another key feature
of the product is the ability to open multiple communications windows
simultaneously.

INTUITIVE ELECTRONIC MAIL AND MORE

MicroPhone LT comes with Loran, a universal front end for information
services. Loran allows easy exchange of mail with MCI, CompuServe, GEnie
and others. Using familiar graphical interface elements, users can compose
mail and with the click of a button watch MicroPhone LT dial each service
in turn, send mail and retrieve any waiting for them--without having to
learn a single mail command for these services.

Loran also offers a single interface to file libraries on CompuServe and
the Software Ventures' bulletin board system, making downloads of files
virtually automatic. As modules for other information services are
developed, they will also be made available to Software Ventures'
customers.

SYSTEM 7 SAVVY

MicroPhone LT was designed specifically to unlock the tremendous power of
Apple's System 7. The Publish and Subscribe feature allows the program to
retrieve late-breaking news and relay it to "subscribers" on a local
network in real time. MicroPhone LT also supports Balloon Help, Aliases
and stationery documents. It is compatible with Apple's System 6.0.5 and
higher.

SUPPORT AND UPGRADES

Software Ventures offers registered users free technical support on
Software Ventures' bulletin board system or over the phone. Questions are
also answered on many online services, such as the Internet, America
Online, CompuServe and GEnie.

MicroPhone LT comes with an easy upgrade policy, so as users become more
accustomed to the online world and decide to acquire advanced features,
such as scripting, TCP/IP, Internet access or fax software, they have a
clear path to the most powerful communications software on the market--
MicroPhone Pro. Says Hindawi about MicroPhone LT: "It is easy to use, it
is powerful and it gives users an inexpensive entry point to the leading
communications technology on the market."
