Philips LMS, IMR to Demonstrate Business Software Application for
CD-Recorders at Intermedia

San Jose, California--March 1, 1994 - Philips LMS, which recently signed a
marketing agreement with Information Management Research, Inc. (IMR), will
be demonstrating IMR's Alchemy business software application on the
Philips LMS CDD521 CD-Recorder at Intermedia. The demonstration will take
place in IMR's booth #1046, in San Jose California, March 1-3.

Alchemy combines powerful data management and indexing with an easy to use
Windows interface for search and retrieval. It enables one user or a
workgroup to collect text and image files in their native format, organize
the files in folders, index each file by full text or key words, and then
copy the indexed files to a CD using any industry-standard CD-Recorder. By
placing a small, powerful search engine with a Windows interface on the
CD, Alchemy allows users to find files in under three seconds. The file
can be viewed without launching the application, then printed or copied to
a local directory. This royalty-free search empowers users to distribute
their data on CD without restrictions.

"Philips LMS has made an effort to establish marketing agreements with
those software developers who have succeeded in creating unique, yet
effective solutions for CD-Recorder users," said David Ferretti, Philips
LMS CD-Recordable product marketing manager. "IMR has filled a gap in the
market by creating the first business software application for
CD-Recorders, and in the process, has helped to open a new market for
products like our CDD521. We are excited about our new partner
relationship with IMR and the multitude of new business opportunities it
will bring."

The CDD521 CD-Recorder is the newest addition to the Philips LMS family of
CD ROM products. The CDD521 offers switchable 2X/1X speed recording for
all CD formats including CD ROM, CD ROM XA, CD-I, CD Audio and Photo CD.
It provides users with true multi-session capabilities. When combined with
a variety of third party mastering software options, the CDD521 is
compatible with DOS, Windows, Novell, NetWare, Macintosh, UNIX and DEC
InfoServer environments.
