SILICON GRAPHICS EXPRESSWARE PROGRAM ADDS STEREOGRAPHICS STEREOVIEW FOR
INDY; DISCOUNTS ENTIRE 3D EYEWEAR LINE

StereoView Products Make 3D Vision Affordable, Improve Efficiency, Reduce
Design Cost

San Rafael, CA -- March 14, 1994 -- StereoGraphics Corporation, the world's
largest supplier of stereo three dimensional electronic display equipment,
announced that a lower-priced model of its StereoView 3D eyewear for
Silicon Graphics Indy desktop system, is now available through Silicon
Graphics' ExpressWare program.

All StereoView 3D stereo eyewear products for Silicon Graphics workstations
are distributed exclusively through ExpressWare, a catalog service
offering Silicon Graphics customers easy access to industry-leading
hardware and software. StereoView products support all Silicon Graphics
workstations. In addition, Silicon Graphics has recently reduced the list
prices of all StereoView products, known worldwide as CrystalEyes.

Paul Crisci, manager of ExpressWare, said, "StereoView 3D eyewear
dramatically increases the customer's ability to analyze complex computer
graphics or intricate details recorded on video. It is one of the highest
quality, affordable solutions used in many of Silicon Graphics traditional
markets, including CAD/CAM, chemistry and visual simulation."

Crisci said, "Now we are introducing an even more aggressively-priced
StereoView product designed just for the Indy workstation." ExpressWare
offers the new Indy StereoView package with eyewear and emitter at $995.
The StereoView packages for all other Silicon Graphics workstations starts
at $972.

Wil Cochran, vice president of sales and marketing at StereoGraphics, said,
"StereoView is a low-price, high-performance 3D visualization tool that
opens up a large portion of the workstation market. StereoView reduces
design costs, shortens design cycles and doubles user accuracy for
molecular modeling, CAD, prototyping, animation, mapping and many other
applications. There is no substitute for working with 3D images-so
realistic they look like they could be picked right off the workstation
monitor."

The lightweight (3 oz.) wireless StereoView glasses are synchronized with
the stereo image on the screen by the infrared emitter, enabling users to
view the 3D screen images with complete freedom of movement. The
electronic, fast-switching, translucent LCD active eyewear provides
flicker-free, full color viewing of 3D images across the entire line of
Silicon Graphics workstations.

The benefits of stereo viewing have been proven in numerous applications
from mechanical CAD/CAE to virtual prototyping and architectural
walk-throughs. Using stereo images reduces design costs and development
cycles, improves accuracy two to four times and makes complex concepts
easier to understand, manipulate and implement. Additional applications
include scientific visualization, mapping, architectural design and
construction, global imaging, structural analysis, plant design,
facilities management and quality assurance.

CECAD. A CAD program for StereoView called CECAD, developed for AutoCAD by
MicronGreen, Gainesville, FL, is easily ported to Silicon Graphics
workstations and IBM PC systems and compatibles. The software allows any
AutoCAD drawing file to be viewed in three dimensions and is ideal for
mechanical CAD, rendering, slide presentations, quick prototyping and any
kind of solids modeling. Using Micron Green's CECAD, Autodesk's AutoCAD,
AveRender, AutoVision and AnimatorPro, a user now has the ability to
rotate, texture, create volume surface and animate AutoCAD stereo 3D
models. Features include interactive perspective control, and scripting of
multiple images to create animation.

Silicon Graphics, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of visual computing
systems. The company delivers interactive three-dimensional graphics,
digital media and multi-processing technologies to technical, scientific
and creative professionals. Its subsidiary, MIPS Technologies, Inc.,
designs and licenses the industry's leading RISC processor technology for
the computer systems and embedded control markets. Silicon Graphics has
offices worldwide and headquarters in Mountain View, California.

StereoGraphics Corp., founded in 1980 and the world's leading manufacturer
of stereo viewing systems, invented and developed the market for modern
stereo imaging hardware. Due to its capability, reasonable price and
state-of-the-art technology backed by 14 patents, CrystalEyes 3D viewing
systems are accepted as the industry standard for stereo viewing.
StereoGraphics is located at 2171 East Francisco Boulevard, San Rafael,
California 94901, phone 415/459-4500, fax 415/4593020.
