Sheet Metal Unfolding Software Announced by METALSOFT

March 01, 1994 -- METALSOFT,INC., the worlds largest developer of software
for sheet metal fabrication, announces AutoUNFOLD. AutoUNFOLD is the first
unfolding software that examines 3D CAD drawings for errors and corrects
them automatically. "Errors in CAD files are the greatest obstacle to
automatic unfolding of sheet metal CAD drawings" says Carl Grosso,
President of METALSOFT, INC. AutoUNFOLD identifies approximately twenty of
the most common errors made by design engineers. "Other errors are also
identified by AutoUNFOLD and suggestions are offered on how to correct
them", says Grosso.

Parts created with any 3D CAD are exported to AutoUNFOLD to make flat
layouts automatically in just a few minutes. Compensation for metal
stretch is done using formulas or bend tables defined by users. Flat
layouts may be folded up again and shaded with a single click of the
mouse. Sheet thickness, bend angles, and other parameters are edited in
seconds.

N/C programs for Punches, Lasers, Wire EDM and any other machine tools used
to fabricate sheet metal parts are generated with METALSOFT's CAD/CAM
software. Flat layouts may be exported from AutoUNFOLD to other CAM
software as well. AutoUNFOLD runs under Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or
higher.
