TABLET COMPUTER

Seamless Wireless LAN Capability Offers Uncompromised Mobile Computing and
Local Area Communications in a Three Pound System

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 9, 1994 -- Proxim, Inc. announced today that
Fujitsu Personal Systems, Inc. has seamlessly integrated Proxim's RangeLAN
wireless local area networking (LAN) technology into Fujitsu's new
325PointRF, the industry's first Windows-based tablet computer providing a
fully integrated wireless LAN capability.

The Fujitsu 325PointRF utilizes Proxim's highly-secure, spread spectrum
technology to provide interference-free wireless LAN capability for
transparent wireless client/server and peer-to-peer communications. A
customized version of Proxim's RangeLAN/PCMCIA wireless LAN adapter is
built directly into the 325PointRF's enclosed housing, including a
retractable antenna.

"This joint development effort between Fujitsu and Proxim meets the demands
of a wide range of application-specific market segments, many of which are
just beginning to realize the productivity advantages associated with
wireless mobile computing," said David King, Proxim's chief executive
officer. "Fujitsu's creative incorporation of Proxim's technology into the
325PointRF represents an industry-first product that provides an
innovative solution for many wireless mobile computer users."

The tablet-sized 325PointRF is designed for mobile workers who are involved
in decision support activities that require untethered connectivity. It is
an ideal solution for a wide range of business applications including
asset tracking, facilities maintenance, manufacturing, transportation and
distribution, health care, and consumer packaged goods management. The
325PointRF will operate in any client/server or peer-to-peer LAN system
that includes a server or workstation equipped with Proxim's RangeLAN/ISA
wireless LAN adapter. The 325PointRF features a 25 MHz AMD 386SXLV CPU,
RAM expandable to 12 MB, and two Type I/II/III PCMCIA version 2.0 slots.
The computer has a 9.4-inch (diagonal) transflective or transmissive LCD
display with VGA support at 640x480 resolution.

"Expanding our family of wireless mobile computers underscores our position
as the leading provider of highly integrated solutions designed to meet
the unique requirements of the mobile worker," said Lou Panetta, executive
vice president of Fujitsu Personal Systems. "Users are increasingly
demanding flexible yet integrated mobile computing packages. Fujitsu's
partnership with Proxim is one example of our commitment to satisfying
those demands."

Proxim's RangeLAN wireless LAN adapters feature a communications range of
up to 1,000 feet with a data rate of 242 Kilobits per second (Kbps) per
channel, with three independent radio channels available. With error
correcting hardware and firmware designed to re-transmit undelivered data,
users are assured that data is never lost or corrupted. The system is
compatible with the Novell Netware and Personal Netware network operating
systems.

Fujitsu Personal Systems, Inc., headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif, is a
leading provider of super-portable palmtop, pen-based and communicating
computers. Its solutions are designed to meet the needs of applications

The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fujitsu, Ltd.

Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., Proxim was founded in 1984 to
