GREYSTONE INTRODUCES DATABLASTER SOFTWARE DUPLICATION SYSTEM FOR PCMCIA
DRIVES AND MEMORY CARDS

New System Offers OEMs, Resellers and Software Contract Manufacturers Low
Cost, High Throughput Solution To Add Value to PCMCIA Systems

Los Gatos, CA -- May 9, 1994 -- Greystone Peripherals, the emerging leader
in affordable high-performance hard disk software duplication systems,
announced today the third model in its series of software duplication
systems. The Model DB-116 DataBlaster is designed to load data and
programs onto hard disk drives and Flash drives which use the ATA/PCMCIA
interface. It joins Greystone's family of DataBlasters for SCSI and IDE
hard drives, both of which are considered the fastest hard drive software
duplicators in the industry.

Each DB-116 DataBlaster system has the ability to duplicate (format, load
and verify) ATA/PCMCIA interface hard and flash disks and DRAM, SRAM,
FLASH and OPT ROM memory cards. The unit accepts Type I, II, III and
PCMCIA cards or devices up to 15mm and can control 3.3-, 5- or 12-volt
devices.

The DataBlaster DB-116 can load software onto sixteen targets in two banks
of eight, and can load each bank of eight targets in parallel. This
accelerates the loading process, allowing the operator to unload one bank
while the other bank is simultaneously engaged in the copy process.

"PCMCIA cards were developed with user convenience in mind, with compact
size and high capacity," said John Usher, vice president of sales and
marketing for Greystone. "Being able to offer preloaded software on this
increasingly popular storage medium takes user convenience one step
further. Because PCMCIA is a new and emerging technology, we've designed
this DataBlaster's firmware to be easily field-upgraded as new PCMCIA
software and products are introduced."

The DataBlaster is designed for efficient and easy operation with features
including bank swapping for loading and unloading, easy-to-use operator
switches and LCD display and an automatic power-save mode.

Usher noted that Greystone's DataBlaster provides distributors, systems
integrators, software manufacturers and disk drive manufacturers with a
cost effective approach to higher margin, application-level markets.

Usher said, "With everyone jumping on the PCMCIA bandwagon, OEMs and
resellers need to add value in order to stand out from the crowd. The
DataBlaster gives them an economical way to offer complete, turnkey
systems with all of the applications level programming installed and ready
for customer use."

The DataBlaster is designed for duplication of licensed software only. The
system can also duplicate software using the same serial number if
permitted.

The DB-116 DataBlaster includes cabling, connectors and operating
instructions. Available now, the unit is priced at $4,495.00. The
DataBlaster measures 15.5-inches deep by 17-inches wide by 7-inches high,
and weighs 10 pounds.

This product is Greystone's second entry in the PCMCIA market. The company
has recently begun shipping its CardDock universal reader/writer for
desktop PCs which allow it to read and write to PC cards conforming to the
PCMCIA standard. An exclusive U.S. distribution agreement for CardDock was
just announced between Greystone and Bell Microproducts Inc., San Jose,
CA.

Usher also said that with the introduction of the DB-116 DataBlaster
Software Duplication System, and national distribution secured for the
CardDock, Greystone is in position to take advantage of the explosive PC
card market with industry-standard products.

Greystone Peripherals, Inc., founded in 1992, is led by PC and peripheral
industry veterans George Robinson and John Usher. The company designs,
manufactures and markets computer peripherals. The company is located at
