DAVKA CORP. NAMED SOLE DISTRIBUTOR OF HEBREW TEXT CAPTURE SOFTWARE

BURLINGTON, Mass., May 2, 1994 -- Ligature Software, Inc. today announced
that it has selected Davka Corporation of Chicago as the sole U. S.
distributor for its CharacterEyes for Windows with Hebrew OCR optical
character recognition software. Davka is the world's largest developer and
distributor of Hebrew and Judaic software. CharacterEyes is the only OCR
software with full-function Hebrew text capabilities.

The Product

Optical character recognition software is used by people who want to
capture text from a book, newspaper, letter or other document without
re-keying the text into their word processor. CharacterEyes OCR software
allows users to scan in a document with one click of the mouse button. The
software then analyses the page layout, recognizes and captures the text.
Users can easily export the text directly into their word processor,
retaining all original text and page attributes such as point size, tabs,
margins, and bold and italic formatting.

"Ligature's Hebrew version captures Hebrew characters, reading from right
to left. It then exports the text to a variety of Hebrew word processing
packages," says Alan Rosenbaum, vice president of Davka Corp. "For people
who want to update old typeset Hebrew texts on a computer, OCR replaces
re-typing as the best way to get the text into digital form."

Other products in Ligature's CharacterEyes line of OCR products include
CharacterEyes for Windows, CharacterEyes for Windows with FormOut! for
speeding forms data processing and CharacterEyes for Macintosh. Most
Ligature products are available through Corporate Software, MicroWarehouse
and other software resellers. A CharacterEyes Software Development Kit
(SDK) that integrates high-performance OCR into application software is
available to developers directly from Ligature.

Pricing and Availability

CharacterEyes for Windows with Hebrew OCR is available immediately,
exclusively from Davka. The product has an introductory price of $995.
