PROVO, Utah, May 23, 1994 -- Folio Corporation announced today it will
reveal details of its new Open Infobase Architecture (OIA) on June 28-30
at Infobase '94, the Folio-sponsored technical infobase conference in Salt
Lake city.

In a related announcement this week, Folio said it is making the core
services of its award-winning Folio Infobase Technology (FIT) available as
a development platform to manage free-format information. The first
products scheduled for release in Folio's eighteen month OIA rollout are
the Folio VIEWS 3.1 Product Family expected by the end of June.

According to Bruce Brown, Folio's vice president of Development, "Infobase
'94 offers an unprecedented opportunity to meet, talk with and learn from
the developers of Folio Infobase Technology just prior to the release of
Folio VIEWS 3.1. Some of our top corporate customers, commercial
publishers and resellers will also be on hand to share infobase tips,
tricks and success formulas that produce measurable bottom line results.

Infobase '94 is expected to bring together between 500 to 1,000 corporate
and commercial infobase developers, as well as leading infobase industry
experts.

The Five Technical Tracks--Something for Everyone

Infobase '94 attendees may choose conference sessions from the following
categories: 

* OverVIEWS/Tech Labs: For technically oriented users and authors who are
beginning to use or would like to use Folio Infobase Technology (FIT).
Includes infobase design and implementation, a tutorial on linking and
searching, and technical labs with hands-on reviews of the client, engine
and infobase elements of FIT.

* Infobase Panels: For infobase application designers and developers, these
customer panels will cover SGML solutions, decision support applications,
customer support systems, OCR/imaging and more. Participating customers
include Banyan, Novell, ADP, Chubb & Son, Smith Kline and others.

* Technical Sessions: These sessions for technically oriented managers and
engineers cover development plans for Folio Infobase Technology (FIT)
including specific features of the Folio VIEWS 3.1 Product Family.
Sessions will include information on APIs, Rights Management, Shadow File
reconciliation, the Folio VIEWS 3.1 Infobase Manager client interface
including Query Templates and more. 

* Infobase Creation: These sessions for infobase produces include
multi-platform CD ROM publishing, using infobases and Total Quality
Management measurements help integrate workgroups, using the OCR process
to convert paper to an infobase, controlling information flow using
applications such as Visual Basic and more. 

* FIT in the Real World: These sessions led by key customers and resellers
will focus on vertical markets where infobase applications have a
successful track record. Participating are representatives from Citibank,
Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche, Powersoft, Cornell University, NYNEX and
others. Markets covered include accounting, legal, technical
documentation, research, and corporate/commercial electronic publishing
centers.

Keynote Address and Conference Activities

Internationally known business trend forecaster John Naisbitt will present
the Infobase '94 keynote address on Tuesday, June 28 during the opening
conference session. Naisbitt's best selling book, Megatrends, established
him as an expert on future trends. His newest book, GlobalParadox, offers
important new insights for the future. Naisbitt' s keynote address will
focus on current business trends, including those that affect technology
decision makers.

Two new conference activities have been added for this year's Infobase '94.

infobase-related products at the Infobase Technology Vendor Showcase in a
special exhibit area. Also new is the first annual Folio Infobase
Technology (FIT) Awards Banquet where individuals will be honored for
