Pacific Micro Notifies Peripheral Land Incorporated (PLI) and Other
Competitors Against Infringement of Mac-In-DOS Trademark

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 29, 1994 - Pacific Microelectronics the owner
of a federal registration for the trademark Mac-In-DOS since 1991 notifies
other companies not to use similar trademarks. Mac-In-DOS is a
best-selling utility software for DOS and Windows that enables PCs to
transfer data to and from Macintosh computers by means of floppy
diskettes.

Pacific Micro warns companies that use trademarks similar to Mac-In-DOS
that it will vigorously protect its rights from infringement. During the
last three years, Peripheral Land Incorporated (PLI) of Fremont,
California attempted to apply for the "Mac-to-DOS" trademark and was
rejected twice by the Trademark Office.

This week PLI's lawyer advised PLI to stop using "Mac-to-DOS" in direct
competition with Mac-In-DOS. Pacific Micro welcomes this long overdue
news. Pacific Micro's spokesperson told the Press: "We have worked for
over three years to make Mac-In-DOS the leading PC software for Macintosh
to PC file transfers, we do not wish to have Mac-In-DOS's identity clouded
by imitation products."

Founded in 1987- Pacific Microelectronics has produced AI applications,
hardware for UNIX workstations, and software for data transfer between
Macintosh, DOS/Windows, and UNIX platforms. Its two interoperability
products, Mac-In-DOS and Common-Link were nominated for annual awards by
the Software Publishers' Association in 1991-1993 and awarded by the
German PC magazine in 1993.
