MAGUS UNVEILS MAGUS PAGETURNER POSTSCRIPT FILE VIEWER AT IBM PSP TECHNICAL
INTERCHANGE IN SAN FRANCISCO

Mountain View, California, April 26, 1994-- Magus released Magus PageTurner
for OS/2 2.1 at the IBM PSP Technical Interchange in San Francisco today.
List-priced at $199, Magus PageTurner is 32-bit OS/2 application which
views PostScript files produced by almost any application on any computer,
without need for the originating application. The only restriction on
viewing is that the PostScript file must conform to the PostScript
Document Structure Conventions. (The OS/2, Microsoft Windows, and Apple
Macintosh PostScript drivers produce conforming files).

The PostScript language is already in use as a publishing format.
Companies such as IBM and Microsoft currently distribute programming
documentation on CD ROMs as PostScript files. With the advent of Magus
PageTurner, the recipients of these files will be able to search, view,
annotate, and print selected pages to any printer.

Magus PageTurner has an object-oriented design, with all high-level
features being implemented in the Smalltalk programming language. The
PostScript interpreter, licensed from Aladdin Enterprises, is written in C
for maximum performance. The combination of languages provides for maximum
flexibility and speed of development without loss of performance.
PageTurner stores state data such as annotations and page addresses in the
PostScript file, in a fashion which does not impair the ability to print
the file on PostScript printers. OS/2 users will appreciate PageTurner's
support for drag-and-drop interaction via the OS/2 Workplace Shell.

Magus PageTurner supports all possible page-numbering schemes (Arabic,
Roman, sectional), and provides an electronic table of contents and index.
It can search individual files or collections of files for text strings,
and can also search the table of contents and index. PageTurner allows
the user to annotate individual pages in PostScript files with "sticky
notes". PageTurner supports both PostScript and TrueType fonts, can print
to any kind of printer, and can scale and rotate images without limit.

Magus expects to release a version of PageTurner for Microsoft Windows in
the third quarter of 1994. Support for additional computer types, such as
the Apple Macintosh, will follow.

Magus PageTurner for OS/2 is available through Indelible Blue, Inc.
(800-776-8284; 919-878-9700). Contact Indelible Blue for sales
information and marketing literature.
