Industry Leading CAD/CAM Company Introduces Windows and Window NT Based
Release at IMTS '94

May 19, 1994 -- CHICAGO, IL -- CNC Software Inc., a leading developer of
CAD/CAM software since 1984, will introduce the latest release of
Mastercam at IMTS '94, in Booth #E-11509 at McCormick Place, September
7-15, 1994. Mastercam Version 5 runs under Microsoft Windows and Windows
NT, allowing users to utilize the peripherals, graphics cards and mice
that Windows supports. Mastercam is CAD/CAM software for 2- through 5-axis
milling, lathes, 2- and 4-axis wire EDM, sheet metal punching and
fabrication, plasma cutting, lasers, 3D design and drafting, and more.

Mastercam Version 5 includes enhancements to the following functions:
pocketing, multisurface planar and surface roughing, multisurface planar
and surface finishing, creation and manipulation of trimmed surfaces and
flowline machining. Mastercam Version 5 also includes utilities for
surface shading and advanced IGES and VDA entity translation.

Much of the easy-to-use menu structure that has made previous versions of
Mastercam successful has been retained, making it easy for current
Mastercam users to upgrade to the new Windows version. One of the biggest
differences can be found in the replacement of parameter screens with
dialogue boxes. Version 5 also includes background processing, eliminating
the need to switch from graphics to text mode. This new release will also
give Mastercam users the ability to customize the background colors for
both graphics and prompt windows, as well as change general configuration
while in Mastercam.
