NEW BOOK OFFERS QUICK UPGRADE AND REFERENCE TO WORDPERFECT 6.0 FOR WINDOWS

May 19, 1994 -- WordPerfect for Windows users can quickly upgrade to
version 6.0 with a new book just published by Mike Murach & Associates,
The Essential Guide: WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows.

This book's unique modular design and abundance of detailed illustrations
allow PC users to take advantage of WordPerfect 6.0's many new and
improved power features and quickly gain the level of productivity they
had with their previous word processing software. The book is filled with
practical examples and figures showing what WordPerfect 6.0 can do and how
to do it, so readers can often learn how to use a function or feature just
by reviewing the related illustrations.

The Essential Guide helps users get the most from WordPerfect 6.0 in four
ways:

* it uses a top-down presentation method that makes it easy for users to
master the features that will help them the most

* it helps users upgrade or convert to WordPerfect 6.0 in just a few hours

* it presents new skills in a modular format, so they can be learned in
just 10 or 15 minutes each

* it serves as a reference that allows users to brush up on any feature or
function in just a few minutes. Because the book consists of independent
chapters, readers can find what they need to know on a particular function
in a single chapter.

This book is the fourth in a series of Essential Guides designed to help PC
users quickly upgrade or convert to the newest releases of today's most
popular word processing and spreadsheet programs. Other topics covered in
the series are WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS, 1-2-3 for Windows Release 4, Excel
5.0 for Windows, and Microsoft Word 6.0 for Windows.

About the Authors

Joel Murach graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990
with a BA in music. He then became an editor for Strings and Acoustic
Guitar magazines. There, Joel developed the working knowledge of
WordPerfect that helped shape the approach he used when he wrote The Least
You Need to Know about WordPerfect (releases 5.0 and 5.1). That project
led to his second book, The Essential Guide. WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS, and
this is his third book. Tom Murach graduated from the University of
California at Santa Barbara in 1992 with a BA in English. He joined us as
a staff writer in early 1993 to help with the development of the books in
our Essential Guide series, including WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS and
WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows.
