Boom in Sales and Strategic Partnership with Newbridge Networks Result in
Dramatic Savings on ACC's Nile Bridge/Router

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Following a dramatic rise in unit sales and new
manufacturing economies resulting from a strategic partnership with
Newbridge Networks, Inc., Advanced Computer Communications (ACC) has
lowered the price on its most popular bridge/router, the Nile. Customers
can now purchase the Nile for as low as $2,795, a savings of 25 percent
over previous pricing.

"Our strategic alliance with Newbridge Networks has resulted in
unparalleled manufacturing efficiencies in producing the Nile," stated
Ossama Hassanein, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACC. "These
improvements in manufacturing coupled with a dramatic increase in sales
volume have made it possible to achieve new economies of scale. As a
result, we can pass these savings along to our customers. Our goal is to
offer the most comprehensive LAN/WAN connectivity solutions available for
the lowest possible cost. This price reduction is just one more step in
achieving that goal."

Previously offered for prices starting at $3,750, the Nile is now available
for prices ranging from $2,795 to $5.045, depending on software and
hardware configuration.

The Nile is a standalone, remote multiprotocol Ethernet bridge/router
designed to help users maximize price/performance over wide area network
links. The Nile hardware platform supports one LAN and up to two serial
connections. The interface cards can be easily removed and installed from
the outside of the unit for increased flexibility. LAN interface options
include AUI (thick Ethernet), 10BASE-2 (thin Ethernet), 10BASE-T
(unshielded twisted pair), and 4/16 Mbps Token Ring (shielded
twisted-pair). WAN interface options include RS-232, V.35, X.21, RS-422,
and ISDN BRI.

All versions of the Nile ship with 2 Mbytes of memory with the option to
upgrade to 8 Mbytes. Four Mbytes of Flash memory is available as an option
for improved remote download capabilities.

The Nile now comes with Release 7.2 of ACC's router software. With Release
7.2, the Nile extends bridging and routing beyond competing products,
offering support for TCP/IP, IPX, DECNet, XNS and AppleTalk routing
protocols. Release 7.2 is the only router software to include data
compression for all the most popular WAN links including Frame Relay,
X.25, Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), ISDN, HDLC/LAPB, and SMDS in a single
package. The Nile is designed to minimize recurring transport costs and
simplify the management of enterprise-wide networks through a unique
combination of features that significantly optimize bandwidth utilization
across serial links. Support for ACC's exclusive Bandwidth Optimization
integrates features such as Data Compression, Express Queuing, Dial on
Congestion, and Dial Backup to deliver unequaled performance,
predictability, and network security while providing the lowest
price-per-packet WAN connections available.

The new Nile pricing is effect immediately.
