Trinzic Introduces ObjectPro -- New Object-Oriented Client/Server
Application Development Tool

Trinzic's ObjectPro is a fast, powerful, and productive tool for
professional developers building client/server business applications

Palo Alto, CA, May 16, 1994--Trinzic Corporation (NASDAQ:TRNZ) today
introduced ObjectPro, a new object-oriented development tool for
professional programmers building client/server applications. ObjectPro
combines the power and performance associated with third-generation
languages such as C or C++ with the productivity and ease-of-use benefits
usually associated with rapid prototyping fourth-generation languages.

"ObjectPro is a major step forward in the evolution of client/server
development tools," said Bob Payne, vice president and general manager of
Trinzic's Application Development Tools business unit. "Many client/server
development projects to date have been focused, almost exclusively, on
applications that are screen access to client/server data. Corporate
developers, independent software vendors and the reseller community now
can take advantage of ObjectPro's powerful object-oriented environment to
build business applications that provide substantial value to the
organization."

ObjectPro Fills a Void in the Current Client/Server Marketplace

As client/server business applications evolve beyond simple data access and
display, a void is growing between the business requirements of these
applications and the ability of existing tools to build them. ObjectPro
provides the performance, power and productivity to fill this void.

"Trinzic expects ObjectPro to be widely used to develop client/server
applications which require more than GUI screens and data access. These
applications will require business objects to be programmed into the
application. Sales order entry with suggested cross-selling opportunities
components, pricing applications with discount strategies built-in, item
configuration applications, benefits approval applications, and customer
service are some examples," notes Frederick W. Rook, Ph.D., Trinzic's
Chief Technical Officer.

Rapid Application Development, High-Performance Delivery

ObjectPro supports the need for rapid application development and
high-performance, plus cost-effective delivery by providing two modes of
operation. During the initial phases of application development and
testing, ObjectPro functions in an interpreted mode. This allows
programmers to build prototypes and initial versions quickly and verify
that they meet the changing demands of their users. When the application
is ready for delivery, ObjectPro translates the application into C code,
compiles it and then links it, producing a series of Dynamic Link
Libraries (DLLs) which form a high-performing optimized application that
can be distributed even to small client workstations. Trinzic's initial
tests indicate that applications built with ObjectPro can run up to twenty
times faster than applications built with less-efficient, interpreted
development tools.

Business Objects, Not Just GUI Objects

ObjectPro is built around a highly optimized object-oriented system that
provides the productivity and flexibility developers need for building
today' s increasingly complex client/server applications. "Because all
application components are stored as objects, developers can readily take
advantage of the benefits of inheritance and specialization throughout
their applications. These benefits apply to the whole business
model-business logic as well as screens and database interaction," adds
Rook. "ObjectPro enables the development of business class libraries by
applying object technology to core business areas."

The ObjectPro Object System is fully integrated with ObjectPro libraries,
making it especially easy to share and reuse all application
components--even complex business models--built in ObjectPro. And, because
the ObjectPro Object System is fully integrated into the editing
environment, developers don't need to be experts in objects to be
productive building applications--they can concentrate instead on the
creative aspects of an application's screens, data and logic. The
ObjectPro editing system takes care of the programming details.

The ObjectPro Object Language contains built-in constructs for iteration,
assignment, evaluation and basic operations, combined with other elements.
This increases ease of use and decreases the developers' learning curve.
The ObjectPro language is also easily extensible with libraries, providing
more power than BASIC-like scripting languages.

Strong Database Integration

ObjectPro provides a high-productivity interface that allows accessing and
updating to a wide variety of databases. Database operations are
implemented through ObjectPro classes and methods. Developers specify data
access and display by using the graphical tools in the ObjectPro editing
environment. ObjectPro supports multiple databases including: Oracle and
Sybase through native interfaces and Ingres, Informix, SQLBase, DB2/2,
Allbase, dBase, Access, FoxPro and others via ODBC interface. Access to
MVS databases (DB2, VSAM, IMS (DL/I), ADABAS, CA-IDMS) is provided through
Trinzic InfoHub software.

Pricing, Availability and System Requirements

ObjectPro is currently in customer test and will be generally available in
June of this year; $2,995 per seat, with volume discounts available.
ObjectPro is available directly from Trinzic Corporation at (415) 328-9595
or through the reseller channel from the network of Trinzic Affiliates.
There is no charge for ObjectPro runtime licenses.

ObjectPro requires Microsoft Windows Version 3.1. The ObjectPro development
environment requires 4MB RAM. Completed applications require a minimum of
2MB RAM, 11 MB disk space is required for complete installation of the
development environment. A 486-class processor is recommended for
development, and a 386-class or higher processor is recommended for
delivery. An ANSI compatible C compiler is required for application
deployment.
