OMNX is a Direct Process Control System developed by Olin Chemicals. OMNX
offers maximum control performance at minimum cost and eliminates the need
to buy proprietary hardware such as PLC's or controllers. Each process
node can control up to 2,000 I/O points. Requires 8 Mbytes of RAM. The
scan rate of each I/O point is individually adjustable up to 50 times per
second. Performs both discrete and analog control which includes
filtering, alarming, totalizing, timing, counting and calculation
functions. May be used in remote, mobile, portable, laboratory, pilot and
full-scale production plant operations. Includes on-line global database
configuration by tagname, process overview, graphics, faceplates, alarm,
trend, history, and help screens in addition to other standard features
such as digitized voice messages including dial-up telephone alert,
operator access security levels, and system redundancy. The OMNX GUI
provides object-oriented windows draw and configure capability utilizing
point and click operator screens. OMNX makes use of industry standard
hardware interfaces designed for industrial applications such as
GE-Genius, Metrabyte, OPTO-22 Pamux, and Transition Technologies.
